Yesterday, the BN government was very proud to announce the exoneration of Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman from the S$16 million(RM40 million) cash scandal as he was cleared by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) on charges of corruption and money laundering. Did MACC carry out a full investigation including recording the statement of Datuk Seri Musa?

According to Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz’s written Parliamentary reply, the Attorney-General’s Chambers had not found any element of corruption in the case of the Sabah businessman who was detained in Hong Kong while trying to smuggle out RM40 million in Singapore currency. Nazri said that investigations revealed that the money constituted political contributions to Sabah UMNO, and not to Musa.

LAKE COUNTY, Fla. — A Central Florida woman has filed a lawsuit against two Lake County law enforcement agencies, claiming officers knocked out her teeth and left her half naked in full view of others during an arrest. 

The arrest happened during Leesburg Bike Week last April, but the lawsuit wasn't filed until Tuesday.

TEMPE, Ariz. -- It's around 2 a.m. and a 20-year-old victim walks to the elevator at the W6 in downtown Tempe to go home.

“The victim starts to walk in and the suspect out of nowhere starts to attack him,” said Sgt. Darren Burch with Silent Witness.

It was a relentless attack that continued even when the victim was knocked unconscious and defenseless.

HUMAN rights lawyers and some residents in Rivers State have decried the killing of three University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) students by Aluu villagers, a community near the campus in Obio/Akpor local government area of the state.

It was gathered that the villagers, yesterday, burnt alive the four students for allegedly stealing Blackberry mobile phones and laptops in an off-campus hostel of the institution.

A rights lawyer, Mr. Ikenna Durueke, decried the action of the villagers, saying it is wrong for them to have taken the laws into their hands.

He noted that the villagers should have reported the matter to the school’s authority, security agents or go to court instead of acting unlawfully.

A TEENAGER nearly died and had her stomach removed in hospital after drinking a cocktail containing liquid nitrogen.

Gaby Scanlon, from Heysham in the UK, drank the cocktail during a night out celebrating her 18th birthday in Lancaster last Thursday, the Lancaster Guardian reported.

She first felt breathless, then developed severe stomach pain and was taken to Lancaster Royal Infirmary, where doctors diagnosed a perforated stomach.

Ms Scanlon was rushed to surgery where her stomach was removed in order to save her life.

GUANGZHOU, CHINA - A video clip showing a young girl being flung and kicked by a teaching assistant at a children's rehabilitation centre in Guangzhou, China has sparked outrage and sympathy among netizens.

The clip was first uploaded and shared by local Chinese media in Sep this year, and shows four-year-old Qiu Yaoyao (not her real name), who is reportedly autistic, being abused by the older woman after the little girl did not cooperate during a daily exercise routine.

The woman is identified as a 30-year-old staff member of the centre, which is a day care centre that takes in autistic and disabled children to teach them life skills and independent living.
