PETALING JAYA: Independent Australian senator Nick Xenophon who flew into Malaysia early this morning was denied entry and is being detained for “security reasons”.

He arrived at the Low Cost Carrier Terminal at Sepang at 6.40am and was stopped by immigration officials.

“He was denied entry on security grounds and will be deported to Australia,” said Ibrahim Yaacob, who is Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim’s chief of staff when contacted.

He added that the senator is expected to be deported at 10pm.

Ibrahim and Australian High Commissioner Miles Kupa have met Xenophon who is in a detention facility at the airport.

According to Ibrahim, Xenophon and three other Australian parliamentarians are scheduled to have a meeting with Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Nazri Aziz, the Election Commission (EC) and non-governmental organisations that would be observing the upcoming 13th general election on Tuesday.

AdilanClub: Deepak’s Open Letter to Dr Mahathir

AdilanClub:Breaking news, is the best for news

Tun, I refer to your statement ‘Ignore Deepak’ as your advice to Najib Tun Razak and Rosmah Mansor. I also take heed of your advice to me to seek the courts’ involvement and not use political channels to claim my rights and remedies.

For your kind information, this is exactly what I have been doing the last two years from 2010 till to date and the courts have been fair and granted judgment in my favour. However, Najib’s administration is “ignoring” these judgments and evidence produced in courts and almost all the government institutions have either swept Rosmah’s dirt under the carpet or just not replying to our various written testimonies and court’s judgment; as such I would like to seek Tun’s advice.

What would Tun do in my place? Being of similar paternal ancestral background, I am sure what I put forward in this letter would be exactly what Tun would have done in my situation or already done under different circumstances when Tun wrote the “historic June 17, 1969″ Open Letter to Tunku Abdul Rahman.

AdilanClub:Breaking news, is the best for news

Feb 11, 2013 in the Chinese metaphysics calendar was labelled as “Destruction Day” and no doubt it was disastrous for Barisan Nasional as Najib Tun Razak failed to increase his popularity despite getting South Korean artiste Psy to come to Malaysia to entertain the Penang crowd.

There were three major disasters for the prime minister on that day:

1. Pronouncing the name of the venue as “Han Yang” when it should be “Han Chiang”;

2 . Failing to get Psy to come onstage to stir the “yee sang” – traditional do for Chinese New Year; and,

3. Getting rejected three times by the Penang crowd.

Najib’s advisers certainly did make a mess of things by failing to inform him that the name of the concert venue was the Han Chiang Chinese school ground and not “Han Yang”, thus causing him to be booed several times by the crowd due to mispronunciation.

AdilanClub: ‘Dr M should contest against Anwar’

AdilanClub:Breaking news, is the best for news

PETALING JAYA: Dr Mahathir Mohamad should take on his arch nemesis Anwar Ibrahim in the coming general election, said former West Malaysia Malay Teachers Union president Nordin Mahmood.

And Nordin wanted the duo to do battle in Anwar’s traditional stronghold of Permatang Pauh in Penang.

“As he [Mahathir] is adamant that he has contributed greatly to the country and that he still has the support of the rakyat, to prove this, he should contest against Anwar.

“Even if he loses, it would not be a great embarrassment as the seat is the stronghold of Anwar. But if he contests in Kubang Pasu [Mahathir's former parliamentary seat in Kedah] and ends up losing, his leadership status would suffer severely,” he added.
