Angry women are up in arms over a call by a male lawyer to legalizeprostitution. The lawyer had asked the authorities to do so when he was mitigating for a woman sex worker at the Magistrate's court in Sarawak recently.
It stirred up a hornet's with wives and girlfriends taking umbrage at the suggestion to the extent that they flooded the PKR Women's wing with phone calls to protest.
An incensed Voon Shiak Ni, the PKR Women's vice chairman, also hit out at the lawyer. She accused him of making a mockery of women, refusing to accept his argument that legalizing prostitutes was also one way to deter rape. Why was the study to prove such a sweeping statement, she demanded.

Is the Tajudin settlement another 'I help you, you help me', from Najib to Dr M

The ease with which Tajuddin Ramli, the former chairman of MAS and a protege of former Finance minister Daim Zainuddin, was “released” from any civil action taken against him by Government-Linked-Companies, MAS and Danaharta smells worse than a rotting fish. Indeed, the instruction which came from the Finance Ministry reeks of a deal brokered within the ranks of the UMNO elite.
In his capacity as Finance minister, Prime Minister Najib Razak agreed to settle the cases against Tajuddin of court, thus hiding the full details of his misdeeds from the public eye. It is irresponsible of Najib to do so since Tajuddin’s mismanagement of MAS was at the expense of tax-payers money. And they have a right to know how they had been shafted.

Not to be outdone by another fast-rising rabble-rouser Ezam Mohd Nor, Perkasa president Ibrahim Ali and his motley group of self-proclaimed defenders of the Malay race are back again stirring up trouble.
This time, their hapless victim is the Star, the newspaper owned by the MCA but which many say is controlled by UMNO.
"I think we should 'chop' the Star as an anti-Islam. I don't accept the explanation that it was a mistake. We all know who the Star editor is," Ibrahim Ali told reporters after chairing a Perkasa supreme council meeting on Sunday.
“I believe that they are testing the limits of Muslim tolerance."
