Sex experts are saying that sex addiction is harder to quit than smoking, alcohol and gambling.
Recent high profile sex addicts include renowned golfer Tiger Woods, US former President Bill Clinton, former “Governator” Arnold Schwarzenegger and former Hong Kong artiste Edison Chen. All of these infamous sex addicts were so embroiled in sex scandals that for some, ruined their careers.
Local psychiatrist Chen Zi Jin says that sex addiction is the hardest to quit because it encompasses more forms of stimulation, including sight, smell and touch. This is far more than the smell and taste stimulation from smoking, alcohol and even gambling.
He says that a man and a woman in the bedroom can attain the peak of sensory stimulation, and this form of satisfaction is unmatched by other addictions. This makes sex addiction harder to shake than other addictions.
Dr Chen adds that the length of addiction also matters; a man with 20 years of alcohol addiction will find it harder to quit than a man with a year of sex addiction. Men will also find it harder to get out of sex addiction than women.
Among the celebrity sex addicts, Edison Chen is said to have had sex with hundreds of women including celebrities and journalists, according to Xinmsn website.
A busty lingerie model, Gloria Wong, claimed to be one of Edison’s flings from 2003 to 2005. Although Edison denied the sexual liaison, Gloria produced screenshots of online messages from Edison that said, “I was gon see if you wanna f*ck me.”
