That seems to be the thinking behind the trend for a growing number of celebrities taking matters into their own hands and sharing intimate snaps with fans via Twitter, Facebook and their own blogs.
David Beckham is the latest A-lister to post an exceptionally intimate family photo on his Facebook page - a stunning monochrome snap of his heavily pregnant wife Victoria sunbaking.
"Took this pic of Victoria while she wasn't looking," the footballer wrote. "She looks amazing.”
What makes the football superstar’s candid shot of his wife even more extraordinarily is that it comes only days after Posh turned downWomen’s Wear Daily’s offer to bare her bump on the fashion bible’s cover.
“I’m not really one of those people that likes to go out and pose and flaunt being pregnant,” the former Spice Girl said, according to The Daily Mail.
In recent years, numerous new celebrity parents have tried to prevent a media feeding frenzy by posting family snaps of their tots online.
