In spite of evidence, two MCA leaders are denying that toxic materials were fired into a hospital compound. Instead of apologizing and punishing those involved, they resorted to denials.
These two MCA leaders have descended to the level of apple polishing. There are some good definitions for this idiom.

How can you win votes when you have descended to such a nauseating level. There is absolutely no dignity.
How can you win votes when your over riding concern is not your voters, but your political master? Certainly, voters will view this defence of lies with disdain. How else do you expect them to react, especially with a load of evidence in the net?
It goes to show that MCA has to rely more and more on its political master get them the votes and the ministerial posts that they ardently crave for.
My MCA friends say they have no choices. They have been bullied into this. My reply “just quit and do the rakyat a favour.” When Nazri challenged MCA to quit, they justify it’s one man opinion.
This is what Nazri said: MCA is like “a wife who complains all day long that she was being abused, raped and not given enough food, but yet does not want to divorce her husband.”
You remember what the MCA leader said after this? We will “stick with BN through thick and thin.” It’s like a romantic line taken from Mills and Boon. Well, may they live happily ever after.
