KUALA LUMPUR: A man who was detained here on Saturday in connection with an acid attack in Jalan Raja Laut early this month, had been remanded for five days beginning yesterday.
Kuala Lumpur Criminal Investigation Department deputy chief Assistant Commissioner of Police Khairi Ahrasa said the 28-year-old was an acquaintance of the victim, Mohd Rafie Abdul Latif.
On Aug 8, Rafie, 27, was splashed with acid by a man while he was in his car near Wisma Bumi Raya.
The assailant had opened the car door, splashed the liquid which caused burns on the victim's face, and escaped in a car with two accomplices.
