Samad Said: It's time for regime change

It's for Malaysia's own version of 'regime change'. The only difference is that this call is not emanating from the White House, but from our own National laureate A Samad Said.
“The time has come for a regime change. We have given the current ruling party 54 years. And we should not allow for any longer than that,” said Samad while officiating the ‘Let’s Read Alternative Media’ campaign organised by Malaysian Students Solidarity yesterday .

Samad however said a 'regime change' would only be possible through the youths.

“Regime change can only be realised by the youths,” he said.

Samad, who said he had shunned all government-controlled mainstream  media for a year now, said these media would turn into 'gangsters' in the absence of the alternative media.

“The portrayal given by mainstream papers is black and white based on 'ruling party is always right, and opponents are always wrong’,” he added.

Samad also did not attempt to hide his preference to be among the "opponents of the government".

“The alternative media are more suitable to the young, who will travel to every corner of the country to explain to the people what is really happening,” he added.
