SHAH ALAM - A wealthy widow woke up with more than just a hangover after an intimate night with a foreign Casanova when he drugged her and stole all her jewellery.
The businesswoman, who is in her 30s, had met up with the man, a foreigner claiming to be an Australian, at the LCCT in Sepang on Aug 11.
The woman had initially met the man in online chatrooms.
Selangor CID chief Senior Asst Comm Mohd Adnan Abdullah said both of them had gone to a nearby hotel after meeting up in the airport and spent the night there.

“After having sex, the man handed the woman a drink spiked with drugs, which rendered her unconscious,” he said at Selangor police headquarters yesterday.

The woman was sent to a nearby hospital when she was found unconscious by hotel staff, who came in to check on her after she failed to check out the next day.

The woman's lover as well as her Rolex watch and jewellery, both worth a total of about RM125,000 were missing.

Her ordeal did not end there as she later received a phone call from the man threatening to release nude photos of her if she did not pay him RM30,000.

The woman lodged a police report on Aug 13.

SAC Mohd Adnan said the man might not have been Australian and had used a fake passport to fool the woman.

“We believe the suspect is still in the country and, hopefully, we will be able to bring him to book soon,” he said, advising girls and women to be cautious of people they met online.

SAC Mohd Adnan said the case was being investigated for blackmail and theft.
