KOTA KINABALU: A local woman was allegedly raped at knife-point at a shopping complex here.
City police chief ACP Ahmad Sofi Zakaria, who confirmed the incident yesterday, said it took place on August 20 around 7.45pm.
“Police are still investigating the incident,” he said.
It is said that the woman was walking to her car parked on the fourth floor of the complex after finishing work when a man approached her and pointed a knife at her.
The man forced her to go to an area near a staircase before blindfolding her with a piece of cloth and raping her.
He also took her money before fleeing.
The incident was widely discussed on Facebook where women are advised to be wary of stalkers at the complex and in the city.
Another incident that was posted on the popular social network site last week concerned a woman who was splashed with a liquid recently.
No arrest has been made in connection with the attack that occurred in Taman Khidmat, about two kilometers from Taman Tun Fuad.
