HATED Colonel Gaddafi was buried yesterday — dumped in a desert grave at dawn.
The tyrant was hastily interred at a secret location with little ceremony.
It was a bleak way for the despot's 42-year reign of terror to finally be consigned to history. The Sahara burial came after Gaddafi's body had been displayed for four days in a warehouse in Misrata.

It had been photographed by UN officials after crowds of locals had jostled to kick it, jeer and spit on it. The corpse was taken into the desert with those of his son Mutassim, 34, and an aide.
The ruling National Transitional Council said the grave site was being kept secret "to prevent vandalism." Gaddafi died at the hands of a mob after fleeing his hometown of Sirte. An investigation has since been launched into a 22-year-old rebel fighter's claims to have fired two shots that killed him.
Only a handful of relatives and officials were at the burial, which was preceded by Muslim prayers.

Meanwhile a massive cemetery is under construction just outside Misrata for soldiers loyal to Gaddafi who died fighting the rebel forces.
