LETTING go of the past is never easy, especially if you're an ex-porn actress.
Just ask Sasha Grey, 23, who sparked outrage when she read to first and third-grade children at a Compton, California elementary school last week, reported AP on Saturday
She was participating in the Read Across America program in California.
But her good deed was condemned by parents who have filed complaints with the Parent-Teacher Association.
KTLA-TV quoted parents questioning whether it was appropriate to have Grey at the school.

Parent Dudley Wheaton wondered why the school couldn't find a fireman or a police officer to read to students.
Grey has not appeared in porn films in over two years.
She has been a regular on Entourage and appeared in the 2009 film The Girlfriend Experience. Grey tweeted that she had spent the day reading to students in the first and third grades on Nov 2.
She said she was aware that her involvement with Read Across America would cause some people to be uncomfortable.
But Grey added that she is not going to hide her past, reported entertainment website The Inquisitr on Saturday.
Committed
She said: "I committed to this program with the understanding that people would have their own opinions about what I have done, who I am and what I represent.
"I am an actor. I am an artist. I am a daughter. I am a sister. I am a partner. I have a past that some people may not agree with, but it does not define who I am. I will not live in fear of it."
She thanked her fans and the program for supporting her decision to continue to volunteer, reported US Weekly.
"Your support and kind words continue to inspire me," she said.
"I believe in the future of our children, and I will remain an active supporter and participant in education-focused initiatives.
