Police believe a Japanese man found dead with multiple stab wounds and his severed genitals under his bed may have committed suicide, reports AFP, quoting local media.
An autopsy showed the body of the 49-year-old man, which had several knife wounds to the chest and stomach, did not have any defensive injuries, the Sankei daily said, citing unnamed police sources.

The paper said a stimulant was also detected in his system.
Broadcaster Nippon Television reported the lack of bloody footprints at the scene supported a suicide theory.
Tokyo police declined to confirm the reports.
Japanese TV and tabloid papers have seized on the case, drawing comparisons with a 1930s murder in which a Japanese woman sliced off her lover's appendage and carried it with her for several days.
