Mooresville High School Bus Bullying

Two female teens from Mooresville High School in North Carolina have been suspended by school officials after another student used her cellphone to film the girls viciously bulling a male student on a school bus, WBTV reports.

The video, which was posted to Facebook and sent to the station, shows a girl verbally harassing the male student before aggressively pushing him out of his seat. The third student who recorded the video and posted it on a social media site is also being disciplined, the Mooresville Tribune reports.

School district spokesperson Tanae McLean told the station the actions were against school policy.

"According to our school code of conduct anything can be from in school suspension to long term suspension," McLean told WBTV.

WSOC reports that the victim of the abuse refused to fight back, and instead posted about his emotional reaction to the incident on his Facebook profile.

"It's not a big deal," he wrote, according to the station. "I refused to give the person sitting next to me on the bus any attention. My thoughts on bullying? Ignore the idiots. All they want is attention, but if they physically hurt you, not pushing or poking but hitting you, then you fight back."

District officials are still looking into the incident, but some have started an online petition demanding the girls receive a minimum of 10 days suspension, according to WSOC.
