Swept away ... girl is blown by jet engines

THIS shocking video shows a girl testing herself against the power of a jet engine — and coming off worse.

The clip shows a plane preparing to take off from Princess Juliana International Airport on the Caribbean island of St Maarten.

As the jet turns on the landing strip, a group of children and teens on a nearby beach run to the airport fence.

They grab hold of the wire mesh, and continue to hold on as the engines spin faster and faster.

The foolhardy kids keep clinging on as gusts from the plane blow away sand from the beach behind them.

One lad holding the fence turns and runs backwards, tumbling over a low wall as he's swept by the wind.

But a girl seems to lose her hold on the wire — before she is suddenly turned around and blown away from the fence.

And while she gets a foot to the floor to steady herself, she quickly drops face-first into the wall with a painful-looking impact.

The video ends with a crowd of her pals running to check that she's okay while she kneels on the floor, holding her face.

But a final still image shows a figure, who appears to be the injured girl, sitting with friends while talking to a police officer.

Some online commentators have suggested that the clip is really an advert for airline JetBlue, whose logo can be seen on the side of the plane.

But others believe the video is real — with one YouTube user simply saying: "People get dumber and dumber!"
