TAIPEI - Justin Lee was taken into custody after turning himself in Thursday, but has so far denied all date rape charges, Taipei prosecutors said yesterday.

The Taipei District Court ordered Lee, 27, to be detained but still allowed him to have visitors, rejecting prosecutors' request that the suspect be held incommunicado.

The High Court later decided to hold Lee incommunicado, Lee, who turned himself in Thursday night, has been charged with drugging and raping several celebrities and other women, as well as filming the acts.

Authorities nabbed the girlfriend of Justin Lee, the suspect wanted for alleged date rape and secretly recording sexual intercourse with partners, in Kaohsiung, yesterday.

The authorities believed Joyce Lai had assisted Lee's flight from the law after an arrest warrant was issued against him on Aug. 1.

Lai was also found to be a fugitive herself. She had been sentenced to 3 years and six months by the Supreme Court for drug dealing.

 before she broke off their engagement.

When David Sartin found out he was duped by his mail-order bride, he started grooming her for death.

Authorities say Sartin contacted an undercover agent he believed was a hitman to get his would-be wife, Elena Barykina, out of the Ukraine and then ship her, in a crate, to his home in Texas.

His plan, according to KIAH-TV, was to stash Barykina in a fortified room he built in his trailer home and "get a good week out of her" before killing her with poison.

Neil Armstrong, who made the “giant leap for mankind” as the first human to set foot on the moon, died on Saturday. He was 82.

His family said in a statement that the cause was “complications resulting from cardiovascular procedures.” He had undergone heart bypass surgery this month in Cincinnati, near where he lived. His recovery had been going well, according to those who spoke with him after the surgery, and his death came as a surprise to many close to him, including his fellow Apollo astronauts. The family did not say where he died.

A quiet, private man, at heart an engineer and crack test pilot, Mr. Armstrong made history on July 20, 1969, as the commander of the Apollo 11 spacecraft on the mission that culminated the Soviet-American space race in the 1960s. President John F. Kennedy had committed the nation “to achieving the goal, before the decade is out, of landing a man on the Moon and returning him safely to Earth.” It was done with more than five months to spare.
