AdilanClub: Deepak’s Open Letter to Dr Mahathir

Unknown | 8:21 AM | | | Best Blogger Tips

AdilanClub:Breaking news, is the best for news

Tun, I refer to your statement ‘Ignore Deepak’ as your advice to Najib Tun Razak and Rosmah Mansor. I also take heed of your advice to me to seek the courts’ involvement and not use political channels to claim my rights and remedies.

For your kind information, this is exactly what I have been doing the last two years from 2010 till to date and the courts have been fair and granted judgment in my favour. However, Najib’s administration is “ignoring” these judgments and evidence produced in courts and almost all the government institutions have either swept Rosmah’s dirt under the carpet or just not replying to our various written testimonies and court’s judgment; as such I would like to seek Tun’s advice.

What would Tun do in my place? Being of similar paternal ancestral background, I am sure what I put forward in this letter would be exactly what Tun would have done in my situation or already done under different circumstances when Tun wrote the “historic June 17, 1969″ Open Letter to Tunku Abdul Rahman.

Of Raja Nazrin, Real Stories & Regal Rhetoric

Unknown | 1:52 AM | | | | Best Blogger Tips

Your Royal Highness (YRH),
Recently, during a talk themed: “The role of Malay rulers in nurturing unity” held in Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) in Shah Alam, YRH declared that “rulers should not be shielded from the truth and must be told the real story”.
May I, with due respect to YRH, tell you the truth that many of us (especially those who are sons and daughters of Perak) find it very hard to believe that you meant every word that you said during the talk. Some, in responding to the article highlighting your talk, have asked you to “walk the talk”!
Much as we would really like to consider what you had proclaimed as “rare wisdom” from a ruler and intellectual, very unfortunately, the tragic manner in which the Perak royal family handled the Perak Constitutional Crisis (PCC) reduces your speeches to mere “regal rhetoric”.

Former Chinese billionaire now on death row

Unknown | 4:37 PM | | | Best Blogger Tips

Wu Ying stands trial at Jinhua Intermediate People's Court in Zhejiang province on April 16. The one-time business tycoon is waiting for the top court's final review of her death sentence.

Wu Ying, a tycoon once listed among the richest women in China, has come to her last hope of survival.
The former 31-year-old billionaire, now on death row, is waiting for the top court's final review of her capital sentence, which was upheld by a local court last month, a few days ahead of the Chinese New Year.
Shen Ziming, the presiding judge of the case from the High People's Court of East China's Zhejiang province, told China News Service that the court endorsed the previous judgment after finding the defendant illegally raised up to 770 million yuan (US$122 million) from 11 lenders with the promise of high returns from 2005 to 2007, and hence should be "severely punished" for the apparent Ponzi-like scheme, as she has "brought huge losses to the nation and people with her serious crimes".
Shen said Wu concealed her debt to lenders and pretended to be financially powerful by "showing off jewelry and registering nominal companies".

It's not A-G’s powers, it's Gani Patail: Charge him, says ex-cop

Unknown | 8:13 PM | | | | Best Blogger Tips

KUALA LUMPUR - Taking away the Attorney-General's power to prosecute will not stop abuses of power, a former senior police officer said today.
Former Kuala Lumpur CID chief Datuk Mat Zain Ibrahim said that there was nothing wrong with the functions of the A-G as defined by the Federal Constitution, and charged that it was Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail (picture) who had abused his powers as the current A-G “several times over.”
“We should not blame the Constitution. It’s the honesty of the person holding the post that matters.
“Even if we were to separate the functions of the A-G and the PP, there are no guarantees that either one or both of them will not abuse their powers,” Mat Zain wrote in an open letter to The Malaysian Insider.

An Open Letter to the Pope - From a Malaysian Catholic

Unknown | 2:54 AM | | | | | | Best Blogger Tips

I am a Catholic, writing from my blessed and beloved country, Malaysia, a land of poignant diversity, pitiful contradictions, pathetic leadership and plentiful opportunity. It is a nation which I am proud of, one where anything and everything is possible – from the most virtuous to the most vile and venal.
Very soon our Prime Minister (PM) Najib Tun Razak will be paying you an official visit at your summer residence Castel Gandolfo. He will no doubt put on a “grand show” in Ganddolfo, in spite of having suffered from “heat stroke” after a recent summer of discontent in Malaysia.
The Star, an established (i.e., one dictated by the establishment) newspaper has described the scheduled visit as one “making waves among Roman Catholics” in Malaysia. Strangely the only “wave” still etched in the minds of many Catholics is a “political tsunami” that took place in 2008.

Students stage demo, warn of ‘bigger’ uprising

Unknown | 4:24 AM | | | | | Best Blogger Tips

G
OMBAK: Some 40 students from various universities staged a protest within the International Islamic University (UIA) grounds tonight, condemning “persecution” against vocal academician Professor Abdul Aziz Bari.
Gathering at about 8pm in front of the UIA mosque, the students lighted up candles and held up papers printed “Mahasiswa tuntut kebebasan akademik” (students seek academic freedom) and “Bebaskan university daripada cengkaman politik” (free university from political stranglehold).
However, the university administration confronted the students when they attempted to march to the hall where Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein was officiating at the “Piala Perdana Menteri” debate competition.

Woman bangs on wall of elderly man's flat for five years

Unknown | 7:11 PM | | | | | Best Blogger Tips

For the past five years, an 82-year-old widower in Geylang has had to bear with loud banging on his wall by his next-door neighbour.
And the banging has got so bad in recent months that other neighbours started complaining about the noise, with one claiming that the culprit - a woman - hits the wall so hard that it "vibrates".
Her "wall rage" seems to have been sparked by her objection to the widower, Mr Lam Kok Chiang, hanging his clothes in the common corridor.
The banging became such a nightmare that Mr Lam said he has spent a few thousand dollars to install a CCTV camera outside his flat, see a psychiatrist and engage a lawyer.

WikiLeaks: Anwar had "firm information" Najib's aide ordered Altantuya's killing

Unknown | 1:25 AM | | | | | | Best Blogger Tips

A leaked diplomatic note from the US embassy in Malaysia to Washington has asserted that Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim was convinced it was Prime Minister Najib Razak's aide-camp, who had ordered two of the PM's former body guards to kill Altanutya Shaariibuu.
The Mongolian translator, who allegedly helped in the Scorpenes deal, was murdered in Malaysia in 2006 and Anwar also said she had been lovers with both Najib and his close friend Razak Baginda.
The note also said Anwar had in his possession "solid" information, even "documentary evidence" that Najib's frontmen had received kickbacks from the Malaysian government's purchase of Scorpene submarines in 2002 and Sukhoi jet-fighters in 2003.
The US cable also points to the corruption and rot already existing in the Abdullah Badawi administration and eventually hallmarking Najib's tenure as prime minister. The abuse of power has not diminished but grown stronger as Najib fights to stay in power, with corruption and interference entrenching itself even further into all arms of the government machinery, the civil service and the judiciary.
And this perhaps explains the Pandora Box of events currently being played out as Malaysia heads towards its 13th General Election, widely expected to be called later this year or early next year.

Man stole wallets for sexual kicks

Unknown | 9:00 PM | | | Best Blogger Tips

When he was seven, Low Ji Qing, the youngest of six children, would sniff his eldest sister’s wallets, handbags and undergarments.
They reminded him of her and gave him comfort.
The sister, 10 years his senior, was the only sibling he felt close to, as she played with him and tutored him.
As he grew older, he had recurrent sexual urges and fantasies involving his sister’s wallet. And so began his life-long obsession with women’s wallets.
Low, now 47, began stealing the wallets of other women to satisfy his sexual urges.
His thefts landed him in jail for a total of 16 years. In all those years, he kept his fetish a secret because he was ashamed.
His thefts and subsequent convictions reached a point where Low gave up hope and resigned himself to dying in prison.

When religion becomes evil

Unknown | 12:22 AM | | | Best Blogger Tips

It is sometimes trite, but nevertheless sadly true, to say that more wars have been waged, more people killed, and more evil perpetrated in the name of religion.
Like everybody else, I am subjective. And because I am subjective, I am also sensitive when discussing race, religion, politics and women when I am in mixed company.
I am as old as this country, born a little after August 1957, and have seen and experienced the best and the worst a plural society has to offer to the rest of the world.
The latest incidents where a pig’s head was thrown into two mosques, one in Rawang and the other in Sentul, must stand out as the nadir of moments in our half a century as an independent nation.
What could the perpetrators gain by this utterly stupid act of desecrating a house of worship?

Perth in August, Italy in July, Kazakh in June: Time for Umno to rein in Najib

Unknown | 3:45 PM | | | | | Best Blogger Tips

There is nothing wrong if one wants to escape the rigors of everyday work and take a short vacation to unwind and relax. A period of rest and recreation is needed and in fact a healthy way of living. So what is fuss about when the Malaysian Prime Minister decided to go Down-Under for some down-time with his family and friends?
Firstly, it was on the 31st of August, a key day in the Malaysian calendar for this was the day Malaysia obtained independence from the British colonialists. Iin other words, it was National Day. Secondly, there was a huge questionmark over who was funding the trip and was it for public or private reasons?
No doubt this year, instead of holding nationwide celebrations including the annual parade on August 31, the Malaysian government had finally decided to have it on September 16, to commemorate the joining of Sabah and Sarawak to form the federation of Malaysia in 1963, it is still against protocol to quietly sneak out without informing the people where you are going, not when you are the PM.

AdilanClub: Sonali Mukherjee - acid attack victim who became a TV millionaire

Unknown | 10:28 PM | | | Best Blogger Tips

AdilanClub:Breaking news, is the best for news

When Sonali Mukherjee spurned the advances of three of her fellow students, they responded by melting her face with acid.

But rather than hiding herself away, the 27-year-old applied to appear on country's most-watched TV quiz show -- and walked away a millionaire. "If you can stare at a picture of a pretty woman then you can look at my burnt face too," Mukherjee tells AFP in her tiny home in the capital New Delhi.

"It's very easy for victims of acid attacks to swallow poison but I made the choice to stand up and scream and shout against the violence."

The recent gang-rape of a university student on a bus in New Delhi -- which sparked angry protests across the country -- has again shone an uncomfortable spotlight on the levels of violence against women in the country, where sex assaults are often dismissed as mere "eve-teasing".
