‘Let My Little Girls Die,’ Pleads Father of 15-year-old Conjoined Twins

Unknown | 3:56 PM | | | | | | | | | | Best Blogger Tips

An Indian father whose 15-year-old conjoined twin daughters are living in increasing agony has pleaded for help – or for them to be allowed to die.

Saba and Farah Shakeel are joined at the skull and have been suffering terrible headaches, joint pain and slurred speech as they grow older.
The girls have received specialist help in the past, thanks to the intervention of the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, but their father, Mohammed, who works in a tea stall in Patna, cannot afford any more treatment. His wage of just £65 a month is used up supporting his family of eight.
Mr. Shakeel describes his daughters’ condition as so miserable that the Indian government should allow doctors to carry out a mercy killing.
Five years ago Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed paid for the girls to visit some of the foremost conjoined twin specialists, including American Benjamin Carson, to investigate ways of separating them.
At that time, the girls were in much better spirits and health. They could only move in a crab-like fashion, but enjoyed playing board games and watching Bollywood films.
Mr. Carson’s team discovered that the girls share a crucial blood vessel in the brain and have only two kidneys, both in Farah’s body.
Mr. Shakeel was told that the girls would require up to six operations to separate them, each carrying a one in five chance that one of them would not survive.
He decided not to take the risk, despite the Crown Prince’s offer to pay.
Five years later, the girls’ condition is so much worse that Mr. Shakeel has come to the heart-breaking conclusion that their suffering should come to an end, unless someone can fund treatment.
The dependency on Farah’s kidneys is causing them to suffer weight loss and high blood pressure.
He told The Daily Telegraph: ‘The girls want to live and enjoy life as others do but when they are in pain, they cry and ask for help.
‘All we want is either the government should come and help us treat them or allow them to die, because they are in a miserable condition.’
The twins’ elder brother, Tamana Ahmad Malik, said the pair were in excruciating pain all the time they are awake, which is at least 15 hours a day.
‘In the last few months, they’ve suffered continuous headache and body pain. They have difficulty in speaking and their limbs have become twisted,’ he said.

Father Forces Daughter to Help Dismember Mother’s Body – Makes Her Hold Head As He Severs It

Unknown | 4:24 PM | | | | | | | | | | | Best Blogger Tips

A father could face the death penalty after killing his girlfriend in front of his daughter and forcing her to help him cut up her own mother’s body.

In an extraordinary court case in Memphis, the 15-year-old girl testified that she witnessed her own father, James Hawkins, 33, kill and dismember her mother, 28-year-old Charlene Gaither.
It took the jury just two hours to find Hawkins guilty of the murder in February 2008 after testimony from three of his own children. The jury will now decide whether he should be sentenced to death.
Outside the courtroom, relatives of Gaither wept loudly and hugged each other. A prosecutor said the jury clearly believed the children’s testimony.
‘They were completely truthful and forthright,’ prosecutor Jennifer Nichols said outside the courtroom.
Jesse Thomas, an uncle of Hawkins, said he had no other choice than to accept the jury’s verdict.
‘Justice has been done,’ Thomas said.
The chief witness against Hawkins was his 15-year-old daughter. She testified that when she was 12 she was repeatedly sexually abused by Hawkins, who had reconciled with Gaither after serving time in prison.
The girl said she saw her father stab and strangle her mother on February 9 2008. She said Hawkins threatened her with a knife to force her to help him put the body in a freezer and later cut it up. She was made to hold the head as Hawkins severed it, she added.
His two sons testified that their father took them to a Kmart to buy a circular saw the day of the murder and that they helped him throw away a mattress from the couple’s bedroom. Hawkins later went back to the Kmart and returned the saw.
A highway crew in DeSoto County, Miss., found Gaither’s headless body, which also was missing hands and feet, on the banks of the Coldwater River on Valentine’s Day 2008.
Hawkins pleaded guilty to dismembering the body but told police his daughter killed Gaither and he was only helping to cover it up.
Defense attorneys tried to cast doubt on the testimony of the daughter, who admitted she had lied to police and child counselors in the past.
Hawkins ordered his two sons to sit in the car for three hours while he took apart the body in a bathtub. Police found blood in a bathroom and the master bedroom, where a piece of the carpet had been removed.
‘All the pain and all the tears, I don’t really feel comfortable calling him my dad,’ the 15-year-old said during testimony.
The girl’s claim of abuse was backed up by testimony from one brother who described seeing them in a bedroom.
Louis Irvin, the father of Charlene Gaither, said he was relieved at the guilty verdict.
‘My family has been tortured and burdened for three years,’ he said.

Father Kills Two Young Sons, Then Emails Photo of Dead Baby to Mother – “We Love U Goodbye”

Unknown | 5:38 PM | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Best Blogger Tips

The father of two young boys is accused of killing them before allegedly texting a photo of the younger child’s dead body to their mother. According to friends of the mother, Gabriel Armandariz, 28, of Graham, Texas, sent pictures of himself on a bed with two-year-old Gatlin and eight-month-old Luke with the message ‘We love u goodbye’.

He then texted a final message to his ex-girlfriend with a photo that is claimed to show their younger son dead with a piece of frayed fabric wrapped around his neck like a noose. Colleagues of the boy’s mother, Lauren Smith, said she rushed into work on Wednesday ‘frantic and hysterical’ after receiving the text messages. Cindy Bradley, who works with her at the Chuck Wagon restaurant, Sudan, Texas, said Armandariz had been calling her and saying strange things before allegedly sending the disturbing photos.  ‘About four o’clock he sent her a picture message of the youngest boy hanging,’ she said.
Unsure if the photo was real or not, they immediately called the police to check on the boys who were staying with Armandariz in Graham. After a 10-hour search through the night, officers found both Luke and Gatlin dead. Armandariz was arrested and charged with their murders. Armandariz also allegedly posted a photo of his sons on Facebook with the caption ‘love forever’. Cynthia Bradley said the children’s mother was living with a relative in the Texas Panhandle, about 250 miles northwest of Graham. She said she was unsure why the couple had broken up. Douglas Ames, the woman’s boss at the Chuck Wagon restaurant, said: ‘Never expected anything like this to happen to anybody. Gabriel Armandariz is charged with capital murder and jailed on a $1.5 million bond. In Texas, a defendant convicted of capital murder can face the death penalty or life in prison without parole.
