Zaki says ‘insulted’ by RM2m bonus allegation

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 7 — Controversy-hit Chief Justice Tun Zaki Azmi rubbished today rumours that he will be rewarded with a seven-figure gratuity on top of a full pension when he retires from office.

Arifin Zakaria to replace Zaki as the new Chief Justice

Chief Judge of Malaya Arifin Zakaria has been appointed the new Chief Justice, replacing Zaki Tun Azmi, who is retiring  this month.

According to Prime Minister Najib Razak, the appointment was endorsed by the King in accordance with the Federal Constitution.

Zaki not extending term six months beyond retirement

PUTRAJAYA - Chief Justice Tun Zaki Azmi, who is set to retire as the country's top judiciary officer next month, will not extend his term beyond the mandatory retirement age.

"I promised my wife that I would not stay longer than necessary," he said.

Additionally, Zaki told Bernama in an exclusive interview that he has full confidence that his successor "will be able to run the show" just as well, if not better.
