Missing cat found after 5 years

A calico cat named Willow that disappeared five years ago has been found nearly 3,000km away from its home.

Willow was found on a Manhattan street on Wednesday and was sent to the Animal Care & Control (ACC) – an animal rescue and shelter in New York City.

The centre contacted Willow's owner based on information on the microchip implanted in it.

Woman microwaves cat?

A woman in Devon is accused of microwaving her neighbour’s kitten until it exploded.

The Sun reported Gina Robins, 30, is accused of shoving the kitten into the microwave the morning after a brawl with a neighbour, where she and her boyfriend were kicked out of a party.

The kitten suffered terrible injuries and died as a result of her alleged action.

The owner of the cat made a formal complaint to the RSPCA.

Robins pleaded not guilty.

A neighbour  said: "The kitten's owner walked into her kitchen and saw the kitten in the microwave and that it had exploded. She was devastated as she is a real cat lover.

"She had about 20 of them and they were really well looked after. One had just had kittens."

Robins was granted bail and is due for a pre-trial review on Aug 12.

The charge was brought under the Animal Welfare Act 2006.
