SINGAPORE - A HIGHLY decomposed partial body was found floating in Bedok Reservoir Monday morning.
The Straits Times reported that police received a call for assistance at 10.30am.

Chinese evening daily newspaper, Lianhe Wanbao, reported that an Indonesian female tourist saw a suspicious person throwing some small packets into the reservoir in the wee hours of the morning.
She felt uneasy witnessing this and called the police.
She could not verify whether the person who was throwing the small packets was male or female, when asked by the Wanbao reporter.
The tourist told Wanbao that she had come to the reservoir around 2am as she could not find a hotel to stay in after she landed in Singapore.
Wanbao also reported that the body was found close to Tampines Avenue 10.
Apparently, only half of the body was discovered and since it was so badly decomposed, omy initially reported that the gender and identity of the body have yet to be determined.
Shin Min Daily has now reported that the lower half of the body is a woman's.
Wanbao had reported that the lower half of the corpse was found clad in a partial pair of trousers.
After the body was salvaged, Wanbao reported that police found black slippers 200 metres from the body, and believe it to belong to the victim.
The Straits Times also said that the police, the Special Operations Unit and naval diving unit are still searching for the missing upper half of the body.
Wanbao said 30 plain-clothed policemen, canine police and four special operations vehicles were at the scene.
Police were still conducting a large-scale search of the premises.
Bedok Reservoir is a popular park frequented by joggers and water sports enthusiasts.
Schools and organisations hold their regular marathons there while dragon boats, canoes and fishing hobbyists dot the waters.
Around its waters are cycling tracks, children's play areas and fitness stations.
