KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 6: The body of a foreign women who are believed to bemurder victims found in a suitcase in a cheap hotel in Jalan Raja Laut, here last night.

Incident occurred at about 11.30 pm when the hotel manager discovered a suitcaseleft in front of the rented room of a foreign man.

Suspicious of the discovery, hotel managers involved in trying to check the luggage, however, surprised to find that it contains the body of a woman before contactingpolice.

Violin of Titanic band found

A violin, believed to have been played by the band onboard the ill-fated Titanic, has been found.

Tests are being carried out to establish if the musical instrument did belong to the bandmaster Wallace Hartley, Daily Mail reported.

Hartley and the rest of his eight-man band continued to play on, as the passenger liner began to sink after hitting an iceberg.

Pig’s head found at Rawang mosque

The police and PKR leaders have called for calm and the cops are still looking for a motive.

A roasted pig head was found at the steps of the Nurul Iman Mosque at Batu 18 here early this morning.

While speculation awas rife on the motive of the culprits, police and PKR leaders have called for calm.

At 5.15am, mosque caretaker Nadzlan Ambak stumbled upon the object when opening the gates of the mosque.

Unidentified male body found in Bedok Reservoir

A male body was found this evening at Bedok Reservoir at 5.20pm.

The Straits Times reported that the police received a call from a member of public at 1pm, informing them of a person seen going into the waters.

The body was later found after a four-hour search. It was retrieved 20m from the shoreline by the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF).

Paramedics pronounced him dead at 5.27pm.

A jogger told The Straits Times that she was asked to leave as police cars and ambulances surrounded the area.

This makes it the seventh body found since last year.

The police have classified the drowning as a case of unnatural death. Investigations are ongoing.

'Missing' student found in gay wedding

A Malaysian reported missing in Ireland, has been found - after he married a man in a grand gay wedding.

Ariff Alfian Rosli went to study medicine at University College Dublin in 2003 under a Petronas sponsorship programme.

He stopped all contact with his family in Malaysia three years ago.

His father Rosli Haron lodged missing person reports with the police, Wisma Putra, the Irish and Malaysian embassies in both countries.

Bodies of woman and son found in reservoir

THE bodies of a woman and her young son were found floating in Bedok Reservoir yesterday morning, three days after they were last seen in Clementi Central.

The bodies of housewife Tan Sze Sze, 32, and her three-year-old son, Jerald Chin, were said to have been found by PUB officers.

Police were notified of the find at about 7am and paramedics pronounced them dead about 15 minutes later. The police have classified the case as unnatural death and investigations are ongoing.

Missing cat found after 5 years

A calico cat named Willow that disappeared five years ago has been found nearly 3,000km away from its home.

Willow was found on a Manhattan street on Wednesday and was sent to the Animal Care & Control (ACC) – an animal rescue and shelter in New York City.

The centre contacted Willow's owner based on information on the microchip implanted in it.

Cop found guilty of causing Aminulrasyid's death

SHAH ALAM - The Sessions Court here has found Kpl Jenain Subi guilty of causing the death of 15-yr-old Aminulrasyid Amzah.

Sessions Court judge Latifah Mohd Tahar later sentenced Kpl Jenain (pic)to five years in jail but allowed stay of execution pending appeal by the defendant.

Kpl Jenain, 48, was charged with causing Aminulrasyid's death between 1.10am and 2am on April 26, last year, at Jalan Tarian 11/2, Section 11 here.

He was charged under Section 304(a) of the Penal Code which carries a jail sentence of up to 30 years and a fine.

On Feb 28, the court ordered Kpl Jenain to enter his defence after ruling that the prosecution had succeeded in proving a prima facie against him.

A 20kg giant frog found in Negri Sembilan

A man in Gemencheh, Negri Sembilan, claims he has seen a huge frog weighing 20kg, the normal weight of seven or eight year old child.

According to mysinchew.com, the man witnessed the capture of the gigantic amphibian by an orang asli (aborigine) tribesman by the side of a river in a mountainous area, two weeks ago.

A photo of the frog, secretly taken with a cell phone camera, shows details of the frog, such as hind legs that are comparable with those of the child.

Apparently, the man who took the photo offered the tribesman RM500 to buy the frog but he demanded RM1,000 for it.

The man agreed and decided to return home to get more money.

However, when he returned, he found that the frog had already been slaughtered and eaten.

It was reported that the orang asli man fell ill after eating the frog and has been bed-ridden since then.

Spy camera found in school toilet

A spy camera was found in the female toilet of a secondary school in Kemaman, Kuala Terengganu.

A Form Four student made the discovery on Sunday, after spotting an odd object in the clothing hook by the door of a cubicle.

She removed the camera and handed it to the school authorities.

The incident has caused panic among the female students, who were worried that their photos might be leaked in the Internet.

It is learnt that this female toilet is the only one in use at the school as the other toilets are currently under renovation.

So far, 11 parents have lodged police reports over the incident on Tuesday.

An officer from the district Education Department told an emergency meeting with the school authorities that investigations revealed that the camera was installed just before it was discovered.

It is learnt the department will conduct a throughout search of all the toilets on Thursday.

TROUBLED pop star Amy Winehouse has been found dead at her home in Camden, north London.

The Rehab singer, 27, was discovered at the property in north London by emergency services at around 3.54pm this afternoon.

A police statement said: "Police were called by London Ambulance Service to an address in Camden Square NW1 shortly before 16.05hrs today, Saturday 23 July, following reports of a woman found deceased.

"On arrival officers found the body of a 27-year-old female who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Bad news for Najib: French police have found "crucial" Scorpene documents

French police have obtained "quite crucial documents" in the Scorpene submarines probe on whether French arms giant DCN had paid kickbacks to Malaysian officials, including Prime Minister Najib Razak, to secure the deal.

The 58-year old Najib had been the Defense minister sanctioning the acquisition in 2002. Even then, there had been much public unhappiness over the price which was seen as too expensive, and furthernore, the high-tech submarines considered as unsuitable for patrolling the country's shallow coastline. Right now, both ships are docked in Sabah and hardly used. There have also been reports of system malfunctions due to the unsuitability of the territorial waters.

Remains of missing girl found at Masai graveyard

JOHOR BARU - The remains of a 16-year-old girl who went missing last month have been found at a graveyard.

The charred body of Nurrahayu Qomarodin (pic) was discovered by police at the graveyard in Masai on Sunday evening.

She was initially believed to have been abducted. However, it is learnt that the teenager was robbed and murdered and her body burnt twice at two separate areas before her remains were dumped at the graveyard.

Her father Qomarodin Abdullah, 47, said yesterday that Nurrahayu did not return home after going out for dinner with her boyfriend on June 18.

The family lodged a police report on her disappearance on June 20.Qomarodin said his daughter, the youngest of two siblings, was an intelligent and loving girl but she began to behave strangely about a week before she went missing.

“She did not want to go to school. She just wanted to be with her family,” he said.

The police, he said, had yet to recover some of his daughter’s body parts, including the head.

Seri Alam OCPD Supt Roslan Zainuddin said police had detained a 47-year-old security guard in connection with the case.

“We believe the victim was initially a robbery target as she often collected the daily earnings from her father who works as a canteen operator in a quarry,” he said.

Lost tribe found in Amazon

A tribe, living in the Amazon rainforest and with no contact with the outside world, has been found in Brazil.

The National Indian Foundation (Funai) - a Brazilian government agency overseeing indigenous peoples - confirmed the existence of this uncontacted tribe after a series of expeditions.

They had used airplanes to observe the group because the country has a policy of not contacting such tribes but working to prevent the invasion of their land to preserve their autonomy.

Funai estimates 68 isolated populations live in the Amazon.

The most recently identified tribe, estimated at around 200 individuals, live in four large, straw-roofed buildings and grow corn, bananas, peanuts and other crops.

Funai said preliminary observation indicated the population likely belongs to the Pano language group - which extends from the Brazilian Amazon into the Peruvian and Bolivian jungle.

The community is near the border with Peru in the massive Vale do Javari reservation.

Funai coordinator for Vale do Javari, Fabricio Amorim, said the region has a constellation of uncontacted peoples considered the largest in the world.

"Their culture, and even their survival, is threatened by illegal fishing, hunting, logging and mining in the area, along with deforestation by farmers, missionary activity and drug trafficking along Brazil's borders."

Oil exploration in the Peruvian Amazon could also destabilize the region, he said.
