His father Rosli Haron lodged missing person reports with the police, Wisma Putra, the Irish and Malaysian embassies in both countries.
He and his wife Kamariah Hashim, 55, made eight trips to Ireland in the past two years butl failed to see their son.
Last week, the 56-year-old Royal Malaysian Navy retiree sought help from Utusan Malaysia to help find Ariff.
As it turned out, photographs of a grand gay wedding of Ariff and his spouse, identified only as Jonathan, had been circulating on the Internet.
In the photos - taken at a chapel - Ariff is seen wearing a black baju Melayuwith kain samping with headgear embroidered with gold thread, while his spouse is in a tuxedo with a green tie.
A local politician who had been helping Rosli, said Kamariah had since written a letter to her son, appealing to him to come back home.
The politician is scheduled to go to Dublin in Ireland on Friday to hand over the letter.
