BAD luck came in threes for a man who was shut out of his house for coming home late.
He was then mugged in a nearby park and accused of planning a robbery in the neighbourhood.
Following the chain of events, the 21-year-old victim was left bleeding with head and body injuries.
He also lost a motorcycle, cash, a gold chain and a handphone.
The total losses that the victim incurred was estimated to be about RM5,000, reported Harian Metro.
It all started when the man came home late from the movies on Sunday.
His parents refused to let him in, prompting him to wander off to a nearby park at Taman Seraya, Ampang, and call up a friend to accompany him till morning.
A group of six men then came along at 4am and asked what they were doing there.
The victim tried to explain that his parents had locked him out of the house but they did not believe him.
The men accused the victim and his friend of planning to break into a house.
One of them slapped him, causing his friend to flee in fright.
The man gripped the victim's hands and hit him with a metal chain while another person used a hard object to bash his head.
