Tragedy...Todd Green fall from plane |
A WING walker has died after falling 200ft when he lost his footing during an air show stunt.
Mr Green was the son of Eddie "The Grip" Green — a legendary aerial stuntman.
Tragic Todd Green plunged to his death in front of thousands of horrified spectators at the Selfridge Air Show in Harrison Township — just north of Detroit, US.
He was attempting to transfer from the wing of a plane to the skid of a helicopter when he slipped and fell.
He was rushed to a local hospital where he was declared dead, a spokesperson said.
Horror ... seconds later stuntman slipped and plunged to his death |
Kyle Franklin, a fellow stuntman and friend of Mr Green, said: "Todd was extremely good at what he did and logged many hours doing stunts.
"He was one of the best in the business when it came down to doing that. He's very proud of his legacy and his family's legacy."
The incident, the third death at an air show this weekend, is under investigation.
On Saturday, a biplane pilot was killed at an air show in Kansas City, Missouri, when his aircraft was unable to pull out of a dive and crashed.
And on the same day a pilot from the world famous Red Arrows aerobatics team died when his plane crashed moments after a flying display in Bournemouth, Dorset.
