Accusations of a rape being committed on live TV, on the set of a Brazilian version of the reality show, Big Brother, is rocking the country.
Model Daniel Echaniz is being accused of taking advantage of rival Monique Amin after passing out after a drunken party.
The latest episode of Big Brother Brasil, which is watched by about eight million people, shows Echaniz, getting into the bed where Amin was sleeping.
Soon, he appears to be grinding his hips into Amin under her bedsheets.
The 23-year-old Amin appears to be unconscious throughout the incident and knew little of what had happened, the next morning.
Police questioned Amin for three hours, before taking her away for a rape examination, according to sources.
Big Brother’s Brazilian presenter Pedro Bial said “The images showed a breach of the rules of the programme. After careful evaluation, the director of the programme found that the behavior of the contestant on the night of the party was seriously inadequate.”
Echaniz was expelled from the Big Brother house and faces between six and ten years' jail, if found guilty of rape
Friends of Daniel, the only black contestant, say he is being targeted by racists and has done nothing wrong.
