A PRETTY model and champion GRAVY wrestler was battered with a monkey wrench after she walked in on her best friend having sex on the sofa

Elisa Sampson, 31, needed 17 stitches after the drunken assault by single mum Sabina English, 32, who had been getting "very friendly" with a man in Elisa's flat.

The blonde model had shouted "what are you doing?" at English who then hit her with the garage tool, which was lying on the floor, a court heard.

She was also grabbed by the throat and pushed by English’s lover Paul Greenwood, and then repeatedly punched by English’s brother who was also in the flat in Rossendale, Lancs.

Elisa, a trained kick boxer, received two fractures around her right eye and a gashed upper lid - which needed surgery.

Burnley Crown Court heard it resulted in a “deformity” on the eyelid and long-term vision problems.

Elisa won the 2010 World Gravy Wrestling Championship in which she wrestled other women and men in 2,000 litres of Bisto outside a pub near her home.

Bisto provided 440 gallons of gravy past its best before date for the contest — at the Rose ’n’ Bowl pub in Stacksteads, Lancs — which raises money for the East Lancashire Hospice.

Sex

English, of Stacksteads, near Rochdale, who admitted grievous bodily harm, was jailed for two years and barred from contacting Elisa for two years under a restraining order.

Prosecutor Martine Snowden said the bust up happened after Elisa, English and Greenwood were at the wrestler’s flat enjoying a drinks party last October.

Trouble began when Elisa went into her living room and found English and Greenwood having sex.

Ms Snowden said: "Elisa was cross with what she saw, unhappy about their behaviour in her lounge and asked ‘What are you doing?’

“But English jumped up and Greenwood got up and grabbed the victim around the throat and pushed her into the doorway.”

English’s brother who was also at the flat punched Elisa in the face a number of times.

The three then fled before English was arrested. The court heard she had a conviction for battery from nine years ago.

Defence counsel Ken Hind blamed alcohol for the attack saying English was Elisa’s best friend but “unfortunately, they had been drinking”.

English’s brother Amjad Hussain, 27, was given a 12 month sentence after he pleaded guilty to assault causing actual bodily harm.

Greenwood, also of Stacksteads, was earlier sent to prison for three months after being convicted of common assault.
