SINGAPORE - Former Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) chief Peter Lim Sin Pang will be defending himself against only one out of the 10 corruption charges tendered against him.

The prosecution has decided to proceed with one charge of him obtaining sex from Nimrod Engineering's Pang Chor Mui in exchange for tenders on IT-related contracts.

Ex-SCDF chief in probe "worked hard to get to the top"

The ex-chief of the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) was known by former colleagues as a hard worker who slogged his way up the ranks.

Peter Lim Sin Pang, 51, was suspended from today for the ongoing Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau probe.

The SCDF provides fire-fighting, rescue and emergency ambulance services. It also deals with hazardous materials incidents, fire safety and civil defence-related matters.
