Woman gets head stuck in bus doors

A woman attempting to get off a bus in China's eastern Anhui Province got her head trapped in the closing doors.

The unfortunate passenger was taking a trip in the town of Maanshan, when the impatient driver closed the doors while her head was still poking out, reported The Daily Mail.

The driver, who was oblivious to the situation, continued to the next stop, leaving the woman wincing in pain.

Passengers who noticed her plight shouted at the driver to stop and open the doors. He eventually did so, freeing the embarrassed woman, who quickly walked away, rubbing her neck.

A reader wrote in to Stomp saying Singaporeans would have complained and tried to claim medical bills from the bus company.

"Honestly, I wouldn't blame them. The bus driver caused the poor commuter such embarrassment and unnecessary pain!" wrote the reader.

Najib gets his comeuppance: Netizens tell him to "Diam lah" or Shaddup!

Embattled Prime Minister Najib Razak is like the boy who cried wolf. For too many times, he has relied on fine-sounding words to win the hearts of Malaysians even as he did the very opposite to what he preached in reality.

A good example is his recent trip to the Vatican, where he again trotted out his call for religious moderation and peace, but the moment he landed in he resorted to racial and religious bigorty to cosy up to his Malay electorate.

But if the 58-year old Najib thought that whatever ill-feeling he created amongst the Christians by unnecessarily warning them, 'Respect Islam , and we'll respect you' would be more than compensated the cheers he received from the Malays, he may be underestimating the fair-mindedness of his own people.

A new Diam Lar! page

Netizens of all races did not hesitate to show their frustration by going into his Facebook wall and posting the comment "Diam lah", which is Malay for "Shaddup".

According to Malaysiakini,, the first Shaddup posting came around midnight after Najib's page administrators published his reflections on leadership and peace in the country.

It sparked a wave of followers as other fed-up Malaysians began to tell the PM to shut up all over his Facebook wall. Some were so vehement they even used large-sized fonts to express their emotions.

As usual, that prompted an online war with pro-Najib netizens retaliating against the Pakatan Rakyat, led by Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim. However, their responses fell far short of the Shaddup Najib group.

A 'Diam lar!' page has since been set up, and as at 8.18 pm already has 7,626 likes. Given Najib's current unpopularity, this looks a real winner of a page!

A newlywed who tried to hire a hitman to kill her husband was branded ‘pure evil’ by a judge who jailed her for 20 years.

Former escort girl Dalia Dippolito wiped away tears as she was given the long sentence by a court in Florida.

The 28-year-old had tried to hire a hitman to kill her husband of just six months in an attempt to get her hands on their home.

Her attempts to find a killer backfired when an undercover detective posed as a potential assassin and she was caught out in an elaborate sting operation.

Police in Boynton Beach, Florida, staged a fake CSi scene to fool Dippolito into thinking the murder of her husband Michael had been carried out.

She was captured on TV cameras weeping after being told her husband had been murdered as she returned from a morning job.

She later looked on dumbstruck after her husband was led into a police station and her murder-for-hire plot was exposed.

Jailing Dippolito for 20 years, Circuit Judge Jeffrey Colbath called her plot ‘pure evil’, and said she was taking advantage of her husband Michael, describing him as a ‘a guy that was gullible.’

The judge said Dippolito had not shown any remorse and called her a ‘puppet master’ who took advantage of her husband.

Dippolito’s family had pleaded for mercy with her 16-year-old sister calling her ‘my role model’.

Dippolito’s lawyers had tried to claim she thought she was taking part in a new reality show and talking to the hitman was part of a stunt.

But a jury rejected her story after listening to secret recordings of Dippolito trying to secure the services of a hitman in 2009.

On the tape she can be heard saying: ‘No one is going to be able to point a finger at me.’

When told she could not back out of the plan, Dippolito said: ‘I’m positive, like 5,000 per cent sure.’

Dean of Elite Boarding School Gets 9.5 Years for Sex with Four Boys – As Young as 13

The former dean at an exclusive $40,000-a-year boarding school was today handed a nine-and-a-half year sentence for sexually abusing four students.

Robert Reinhardt, who worked at The Gunnery school in Washington, Connecticut, will also have to register as a sex offender after prison and serve 30 years of probation.

Victims’ relatives hugged and cried as Reinhardt, who had been free on bail, was led out of the Litchfield Superior Court in handcuffs.

The 46-year-old pleaded guilty in April to three counts of second-degree sexual assault and one count of risk of injury to a minor, charges that carry up to 40 years in prison combined.

However he received the nine-and-a-half year sentence in a plea deal.

‘I’m sorry for all the events that have occurred,’ Reinhardt said without elaborating. It was his only statement inside the courtroom.

Reinhardt had insisted on his innocence and took the plea deal only to avoid a much longer prison sentence that could have been imposed if he went to trial and was convicted, his lawyer, William Dow III said.

Four former students said Reinhardt abused them while they attended the school, often at his on-campus apartment.

The first abuse dated as far back as 2002 when Reinhardt invited one boy to go to the boathouse where hugging, kissing, and oral sex took place.

The student tried to end the relationship, but Reinhardt warned the teenager he had control over grades, and could ‘out him’ as a gay man,  Assistant State Attorney Terri Sonneman had told the court in a previous hearing.

A boy, now 18, had 70 sexual encounters with Reinhardt when he was a 13-year-old freshman in 2007. Another victim was molested six times and two involved oral sex.

Sonnemann told how Reinhardt would invite the boys over to his apartment in one of the school’s dormitories.

The teen would then lie on a couch and place his head in Reinhardt’s lap. The dean would then begin to rub the shoulders of the victim, working his way to the victim’s genital area.

One victim said in April that he was stunned and upset by the plea bargain because he thought Reinhardt would be serving much more prison time, his lawyer said.

Prosecutors said the other three victims also wanted a more severe sentence but accepted the plea deal because it spared them from having to testify in public at a trial.

Reinhardt resigned from the school in June 2009 after the allegations surfaced and was arrested two months later.

He had been on the faculty at the school since 1996 and was named dean in 2006. He had been living most recently in Telford, Pa., about 30 miles north of Philadelphia.

The Gunnery, a residential school in the rolling hills of western Connecticut, was founded in 1850 by outdoorsman and abolitionist Frederick William Gunn.

There were 270 students this year at the school, which costs more than $40,000 per year for boarding students.
