KUALA LUMPUR: A Malaysian student on an Asean scholarship to the National University of Singapore (NUS) may have landed himself in trouble over his steamy ‘sex blog’ which features photos and videos of him and his girlfriend engaged in sexual acts.
The law student, named by Singapore media as Alvin Tan Jye Yee, 24, claimed that he and his girlfriend, identified as Vivian Lee, 23, love posting about their sex life on their Tumblr site “for everyone to enjoy.”
Identifying themselves as “Alvin and Vivian” on their blog, they also claimed that they only upload self-made content and invite any attractive couples in Malaysia and Singapore who are into swinging to contact them.

The blog is believed to have started on September 20, when the couple began posting photos of them engaged in sex.
The caption of one of the photos even claimed that they had sex in the washroom for the disabled at the Esplanade. No attempt was made to cover up their faces in the pictures.
They followed it up with a home-made sex video. In the video’s explanation, the couple said the “humble self-production will serve as a small start to bigger things to come; we have always aspired to be adult film actors since puberty.”
The couple even opened up the blog to questions from viewers, with candid responses.
One viewer had posted a question to the couple on Oct 15, asking them why they do such things.
The reply was that they believed those who are open-minded about sex shouldn’t be branded as criminals.
“Because we believe that there’s nothing inherently wrong with sex.”
“We don’t see why people who are sexually-active and/or being open about their sex lives should be treated as sinners or criminals. Sex is a natural reproductive process that really doesn’t deserve to have a stigma attached to it. Close-minded people need to get over it,” went the response.
The expose on the blog’s has since created a stir in the island republic, with the controversy front-paged by The New Paper, and even reported in The Straits Times.
Media reports have claimed that the couple are in Malaysia now, and Tan has taken a leave of absence from school to pursue his business.
The New Paper had also interviewed one of Tan’s ex-classmates from junior college on the matter. The former classmate claimed he wasn’t surprised by the student’s behaviour.
“He was very competitive in class, really smart and outspoken but at the same time eccentric. He was just plain weird so I wasn’t surprised when he came up with the blog,” she was quoted as saying.
Meanwhile, Tan could be facing serious legal action over his exhibitionist display.
The Straits Times quoted lawyer Bryan Tan of Keystone Law Cop as saying that if the blog owner enters Singapore, he could be prosecuted for breaching the Films Act for his obscene videos, even if he is not Singaporean and the videos may not have been shot here.
He added that if he is a student here, he may have broken school rules. NUS’ code of student conduct states behaviour that is “offensive should not be a feature of our students”.
Efforts to contact Tan via his Facebook page for comments remained unsuccessful at Press time.
