Why is Dr Rosmah so disliked

Let us cut the fat and get to the bone. Mind you, this is not about bone-picking but about being honest to the bone.

The question is: Why is our premier’s spouse – infamously titled ‘The First Lady of Malaysia’ so much despised in the alternative media?

In the fifty over years of nationhood history, we never had a case where citizens took to such displeasure with a leader’s wife.

The wives of Malaysia's first prime minister were never dirtied in the court of public opinion. Neither, Tun Hussein Onn. Nor Tun Abdul Razak. Even The Tun Doctor Mahathir who has earned mountains of brick brats from the citizens does not have a single line of offensive against his immaculate spouse.

And mind you, Badawi who was unfavorably dismissed with a public label of ‘Mr. Sleepy Snoopy’ did not suffer any bombardment aimed at his late nor present wives.

All the spouses of our past leaders were never faulted by the rakyat - in public media and in private conversations.

In a move bound to knock the wind out of the sails of Prime Minister Najib Razak's wife, Australia's Curtin University has apologized for referring to her as the First Lady of Malaysia, which according to the country's constitution is a title reserved for the Queen.

Curtin had made the mistake when it issued an honorary doctorate to the unpopular Rosmah Mansor. Although it did not say so, the university certainly got more than it bargained for when it recently awarded an honorary doctorate to her. Complaints flooded its Facebook page and the university was even accused of trying to gain favor or had accepted some form of bribe or other to grant Rosmah the PhD, and address her as the  First Lady of Malaysia.

In countless times in ancient Chinese history, Kingdoms fell because of women. In modern political history, two women who have contributed towards a man's downfall is Christine Keeler in the Profumo-scandal affair and Monica Lewinsky who was involved in an extra-marital affair with Bill Clinton, who was then the president of the USA.

Therefore it is not very true to say that women is the weaker sex. Many women, through their cunning wiles have managed to outfox an intelligent man. It has also been said that women are more cunning then men although research has not produced concrete proof of this and no empirical data is available.
