Take action against Saiful for TV3 interview, Karpal tells judge

Lead counsel for Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim Karpal Singh has called on trial judge to act against sodomy complainant Saiful Bukhari Azlan for breaching rules after he gave an interview to TV3, wherein he spoke about the sodomy case and how it had affected him..

"I think the judge should do something. Judges have a duty, you know, on the spot, to issue a show cause letter. I think that is what the judge should do," said Karpal to reporters at the court complex in Jalan Duta.

The prime minster of Malaysia had challenged the opposition political parties and the citizens by alleging that they do not have the guts.

“If you have guts, then fight us during the election and not this way. Only those with no guts will hold demonstrations," he had told the PPP's annual assembly.

KUALA LUMPUR: Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim will be the first to take the witness stand at the High Court here from Aug 8 to 26 to make his defence against a charge of sodomy.

The date was fixed by Justice Mohamad Zabidin Mohd Diah after meeting Anwar’s lawyers and the prosecution twice in his chambers this morning
