Facebook "defriending" led to double murder

NASHVILLE - A Tennessee couple who "defriended" a woman on Facebook were murdered in their home by the jilted woman's father and another man, police said on Thursday.

"It's the worst thing I've ever seen," Johnson County Sheriff Mike Reece said, adding he had never seen anything like it in his 27 years in law enforcement in the area. "We've had murders, but nothing like this. This is just senseless."

He said Billy Clay Payne, Jr. and Billie Jean Hayworth were killed last month after they deleted Jenelle Potter, the daughter of one of the suspects, from their "friends" list. Both were shot in the head and the man had his throat cut.

A picture of a parking attempt that misfired badly has spread like wildfire online.

The picture, which is still being shared on social media networks Facebook and Twitter, shows a Toyota stuck on a staircase.

It was first uploaded onto Facebook on Thursday evening. Since then, the picture has gathered over 1,000 likes and 800 plus shares.

Users were also vocal. 135 comments were posted. Some users criticised the driver while others wondered where this incident took place.


It was unlikely that this incident happened in Singapore as the green signboard visible on the left looked like it had some Chinese words. A user also pointed out that the carpark has a fire extinguisher, fire hose and fire buckets.

S'pore family dies in M'sian car wreck

A SINGAPOREAN family's trip to Malaysia for a happy occasion - a relative's wedding - ended in a tragic accident that claimed four lives.

A 62-year-old woman, Madam Aminah Adom, 62, died on the spot.

Her husband, Haji Mohd Yasin Husin, 75, who was driving, and their Indonesian maid, Ms Suriati, 30, died in Kemaman Hospital, Terengganu.

His granddaughter, Nor Istiharah, 12, died while being transferred from Kemaman Hospital to Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital in Kuantan, Pahang.

The only survivor was Nor Istiharah's 17-year-old brother, Taufik Hidayat.

Mr Mohd Yasin's son and nephew told The New Paper that he was used to long drives and often went on road trips to Malaysia with his family.

But at Kemaman, about 100km from their destination of Kuala Terengganu in the north-east state of Terengganu, his car skidded and hit a barrier at the side of the road.

As the car spun, an oncoming vehicle smashed into it.
