AMPANG: Three Cameroonians jointly claimed trial at the Sessions Court here yesterday to committing culpable homicide not amounting to murder against a Japanese businessman.
Ndele Innocent Kufor, 27, Celestin Nzogne, 35, and Balack Mabe Jean Paul, 20, allegedly caused the death of Hirokazu Miyashita, 51, at a room at Hotel De Palma in Ampang on Aug 22.
All three accused also claimed trial to committing gang robbery with a deadly weapon against Hirokazu and another Japanese businessman.
They, and another person still at large, allegedly robbed Hirokazu and Sakata Ryuzo, of two handphones and RM98,000 at the same place.
Ndele was arrested two days after the incident while Celestin and Balack were picked up on Aug 27.
Deputy public prosecutor Dalina Ali prosecuted while the three were not represented.
Sessions Court judge Roszianayati Ahmad denied the three bail and fixed Oct 18 for mention and time for them to appoint counsel.
