Who are the Malays?

Unknown | 11:36 PM | | | Best Blogger Tips

There are two theories as to their origins, one is they came from the Hoabinh area of Indochina and the other is they originated from South China.
To the general public, Syed Husin Ali is the former deputy president of PKR. To me, he will always be Prof Syed Husin Ali, the respectable bespectacled professor who I first encountered when I was an undergraduate in Universiti Malaya.
I never failed to make time to attend his public forum, seminars and talks. He was not my lecturer, but his ideas have definitely made an impact on my thought process.
Prof Syed’s book, ‘The Malays – Their Problem and Future’ was first launched in 1978. I can still remember the book which was green in colour – and I still have it with me. I found the book intriguing and very informative to understand the history of the Malays.
When they released a revision of the book in 2008, I was perhaps one of the first to go out to buy it and read it again.
It is very important that we understand the history and we agree to the historical foundation of this country. One of the most important historical foundations that we should not argue over is about who are the Malays and about this land that used to be called Tanah Melayu.
I find that there is a handful of Malaysians who seem adamant at insisting that this country was not sired from the Malay polity and that the Malays are not the legitimate natives of the land.

New Study – Half of Men are OK with Girl on Girl Cheating

Unknown | 3:18 AM | | | | | | | Best Blogger Tips

Half of men would forgive their female partner’s infidelity, as long as it was with another woman, according to a new study on cheating. Women, however, were less likely to forgive and forget if their boyfriend had been with another man, the University of Texas at Austin study showed.

Researchers asked 718 college students to imagine being in a long-term relationship and what their reactions would be to several different cheating scenarios. They found that overall, 50 percent of men would likely continue a relationship with a woman who had a dalliance with another woman, while 22 percent said they could forgive betrayal with another man.

For women, the results were reversed. If their boyfriend cheated with another woman, 28 percent said they’d keep him around, but only 21 percent said they would if he cheated with another man.

Published this month in the journal “Personality and Individual Differences,” the study concluded the participant’s reactions were based on basic jealousy instincts. ”A robust jealousy mechanism is activated in men and women by different types of cues — those that threaten paternity in men and those that threaten abandonment in women,” said Jaime Confer, the study’s lead author and a PhD candidate in evolutionary psychology.
Men, they said, felt more threatened by a rival male because of paternity uncertainty, whereas they saw a female partner’s homosexual affair as “an opportunity to mate with more than one woman simultaneously, satisfying men’s greater desire for more partners.”

Lady Gaga “Unzipped” – Says “I am Not Full of Sh*t, Are You?”

Unknown | 6:01 AM | | | | | | | | Best Blogger Tips

Lady Gaga, 25,  is unzipped for NME Magazine.  Gaga is almost bare on the cover in a sheer bodysuit with some strategically placed zippers to cover her.  Gaga who has received criticism for being manufactured because of her outlandish outfits that she wears, controversial behavior and videos denies that this is the case.  She said “I am not full of sh*t.”

She told the magazine, “Let me tell you something. If you f**king rip my hairbow and my wig off my f**king head, my shoes, my bra, every single thing on my body, and you throw me on a piano with a microphone, I will f**king make you cry.” Meanwhile Gaga is receiving a lot of flack by the Catholic Church and Christians for her new song Judas that she released last week.  The lyrics in the song include, ‘I’m in love with Juda-as, Juda-as, Judas Juda-a-a, Judas Juda-a-a, Judas Juda-a-a, Judas Gaga’.  Religious leaders says Gaga is using shock tactics and Christian idolatry to advance her career.  Considering the fact that Gaga is releasing the video on Easter it seems clear it is another desperate attempt at getting attention. Since Gaga claims she is not all about the outlandish outfits, nakedness and publicity stunts, she needs to get rid of it all get up on stage and belt one out for us without all the accoutrements.  Show us, don’t tell us!   I doubt that will happen, Gaga needs to get over herself,  her desperate publicity stunts are becoming desperate and boring!
