Mat Sabu the next Khomeini, says MCA

PETALING JAYA - MCA has called Mohamad Sabu the next Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini in the making, taking a different tack from Umno’s offensive against the PAS deputy president for allegedly being a Communist sympathiser.

Khomeini was an Iranian religious and political leader who played an integral part in the Iranian Revolution that led to the overthrow of the Shah of Iran in 1979. He later became Iran’s Supreme Leader until his death in 1989.

The remarks about Mohamad, popularly known as Mat Sabu, were contained in an editorial contained within MCA party organ, The Guardian. Copies of the newsletter were distributed to participants of a conference organised here by the party’s think-tank.

SYDNEY - The boyfriend of Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard has hit out at people bullying his partner, saying women are among the worst culprits.

Gillard is Australia's first female leader and is under huge pressure with her ratings in opinion polls at record lows.

Race criterion for top spots never raised, says PKR and DAP

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 11 — PKR and DAP leaders today downplayed PAS’s assurance that the country’s top two posts will still be held by Muslims should Pakatan Rakyat (PR) assume federal power, saying the matter had yet to be discussed within the pact’s national leadership.

But the opposition leaders also said there was an unspoken consensus among the three parties that the prime minister’s post would be given to a Muslim PR leader, and stressed that all parties have agreed that PKR de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is the pact’s PM-in-waiting.

PAS secretary-general Datuk Mustafa Ali yesterday moved to assure the party’s grassroots that the country’s top two leaders will still be Muslim if the federal opposition takes over the government.

PAS Spiritual adviser Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat has dismissed as a "joke" speculation spread by former PKR leader over the UMNO media that the Islamist party would replace Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim with UMNO stalwart Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah.

The rumors gained strength after Bayan Baru MP Zahrain Hashim, who left PKR on sour terms, suggested Ku Li as someone who could take over the post after Ku Li formed Amanah last week, which is the latest NGO in town. However, it must be pointed that Ku Li is still an UMNO member and has not given any indication that he will step down. Chances are higher that Amanah will be used as a vehicle to present Ku Li as a possible uniting force in UMNO presidential race.

Many in UMNO fear that deputy president Muhyiddin Yassin's racial rhetoric may hinder his ability to be a prime minister who can rule the country with peace and progress. Ku Li presents that in-between alternative from Najib to Muhyiddin.

Bersih hijacked by "other groups and individuals", says Johor Queen

Almost 3 weeks after the Bersih 2.0 rally, the debate over the event still continues with a key member of royal family saying today that the electoral reform movement "had in someway been hijacked" by other groups and individuals.

Johor Sultanah Raja Zarith Sofia Sultan Idris Shah, said though the original cause of Bersih rally was genuine, it had been taken over by others.

"They had in someway been hijacked by other groups and individuals... the original idea about general elections and the transparency of general elections were lost," she said.

Act against Ibrahim Ali for racist statement, says Khairy

KUALA LUMPUR - Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin urged the authorities to take action against Malay rights group Perkasa's president Datuk Ibrahim Ali for 'threatening' the Chinese community.

"It is a racist and seditious statement that is dangerous.

"Action should be taken against him as his statement is a clear threat," he told reporters at Parliament's lobby here on Monday.

He added that the authorities should use the Sedition Act to investigate Ibrahim over his statement.

Although supporting freedom of expression, Khairy said that Ibrahim had gone beyond that and had made a threat against the Chinese community by asking them to 'stock-up' for July 9.

He assured the Chinese community that the view put forth by Ibrahim was solely his own and did not represent that of Malays in general.

"Umno Youth does not subscribe to such a view," he added.

Ibrahim, who recently announced that Perkasa would hold a demonstration to counter the planned Bersih 2.0 street rally on July 9, had called on the Chinese to stock up on food.

Lady Gaga “Unzipped” – Says “I am Not Full of Sh*t, Are You?”

Lady Gaga, 25,  is unzipped for NME Magazine.  Gaga is almost bare on the cover in a sheer bodysuit with some strategically placed zippers to cover her.  Gaga who has received criticism for being manufactured because of her outlandish outfits that she wears, controversial behavior and videos denies that this is the case.  She said “I am not full of sh*t.”

She told the magazine, “Let me tell you something. If you f**king rip my hairbow and my wig off my f**king head, my shoes, my bra, every single thing on my body, and you throw me on a piano with a microphone, I will f**king make you cry.” Meanwhile Gaga is receiving a lot of flack by the Catholic Church and Christians for her new song Judas that she released last week.  The lyrics in the song include, ‘I’m in love with Juda-as, Juda-as, Judas Juda-a-a, Judas Juda-a-a, Judas Juda-a-a, Judas Gaga’.  Religious leaders says Gaga is using shock tactics and Christian idolatry to advance her career.  Considering the fact that Gaga is releasing the video on Easter it seems clear it is another desperate attempt at getting attention. Since Gaga claims she is not all about the outlandish outfits, nakedness and publicity stunts, she needs to get rid of it all get up on stage and belt one out for us without all the accoutrements.  Show us, don’t tell us!   I doubt that will happen, Gaga needs to get over herself,  her desperate publicity stunts are becoming desperate and boring!
