Mat Sabu the next Khomeini, says MCA

PETALING JAYA - MCA has called Mohamad Sabu the next Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini in the making, taking a different tack from Umno’s offensive against the PAS deputy president for allegedly being a Communist sympathiser.

Khomeini was an Iranian religious and political leader who played an integral part in the Iranian Revolution that led to the overthrow of the Shah of Iran in 1979. He later became Iran’s Supreme Leader until his death in 1989.

The remarks about Mohamad, popularly known as Mat Sabu, were contained in an editorial contained within MCA party organ, The Guardian. Copies of the newsletter were distributed to participants of a conference organised here by the party’s think-tank.

Mat Sabu gets SMS threat to splash acid on wife, daughter

PAS deputy president Mat Sabu has said he received several SMS messages on his handphone threatening to splash acid on his family members including his wife and daughter.

The sender of the messages did not identify himself but stated he was unhappy with Mat Sabu's "libellous" comments allegedly made during a ceramah or political lecture at Tasik Gelugor, Penang on August 21.

"Yesterday, I received a mobile text message from someone threatening to splash acid on my wife and daughter," Mat Sabu told a press conference on Thursday.

PETALING JAYA: PAS deputy president, Mohamad Sabu, will take legal action against Utusan Malaysia for the “distorted and false” reporting of his ceramah in Penang’s Tasek Gelugor on Augt 21.

Last Saturday, the Umno-owned daily had quoted the PAS leader as saying that the communists who attacked the Bukit Kepong police station during the Emergency on Feb 3, 1950, were heroes and not the 17 policemen who died in the attack.

Utusan also quoted him as saying that the country’s first prime minister, Tunku Abdul Rahman, and Umno’s first president, Onn Jaafar, should not be recognised as freedom fighters because they were also British officers.

AG to gun after Anwar, Mat Sabu and Ambiga in Bersih round-up
