1,600 foreigners in voter list, Najib asked to explain

PETALING JAYA - Pakatan Rakyat (PR) has accused Datuk Seri Najib Razak of losing control of institutions that govern elections after the opposition pact claimed to have discovered 1,600 cases of foreigners being given the right to vote between March to June this year alone.

Opposition lawmakers also said that this raised doubt over other border protection programmes such as the current drive to register millions of migrant workers — both legal and illegal.

The eight-hour Bersih rally ended at the Petronas Twin Towers with organisers of the event claiming victory.

PETALING JAYA: The Bersih 2.0 rally ended today at the Kuala Lumpur City Centre here leaving a trail of destruction in various parts of the city.

The supporters of free and fair elections clashed with the anti-riot police leading to the arrest of 1,667 people while scores of others were reported injured.
