PETALING JAYA: Like a scene from a Clint Eastwood western, two aging gunfighters are training their pistols on each other in what could be their last political duel.

Responding to Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s call on the people of Johor to put Lim Kit Siang’s political career six feet underground, the latter has now thrown a dare to the former premier.

The DAP veteran challenged the patriarch of Umno to contest against him in the Gelang Patah parliamentary constituency in the coming 13th general election.

“With Mahathir still so active in Malaysian and in particular Umno politics, I invite him to come to Gelang Patah to contest in the elections and let the people of Johor decide whose political life should be ended, and whether Gelang Patah should be the political ‘kubur’ [grave] for me or him.

Question No. 4 during Question Time in Parliament today was the star attraction of the day as I had asked the Prime Minister to substantiate his allegation more than a month ago that Bersih 3.0 rally was a coup attempt by the Opposition to overthrow the government.

MPs from both Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Rakyat were expecting some “shocking” revelations to substantiate the very serious allegation by the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak in Gua Musang on 4th May and which had the immediate support of three former Inspectors-General of Police, Tun Hanif Omar, Tan Sri Rahim Noor and Tan Sri Musa Hassan that the Bersih 3.0 rally was a coup d’etat attempt by Pakatan Rakyat to overthrow the Najib government  on April 28 itself!

Yesterday, former Prime Minister Tun Dr. Mahathir blogged that the Bersih 3.0 rally was a “preparation” and “warm-up” by Pakatan Rakyat for violent demonstrations to reject the results of the 13th general election should the opposition fail to win it.

He said: “Their defeat will be followed by violent demonstrations that will go on and on so that the election results are rejected and a new government is put in place, that is approved by the opposition.

“After that, they will attempt to hold an election again that they can manipulate.”

KUALA LUMPUR, May 19 – Lim Kit Siang today said delays in the general elections will favour Pakatan Rakyat (PR), giving the opposition more time to “debunk lies” by the ruling Barisan Nasional (BN).

The elections must be called within a year, but uncertainty over its date has resulted in a guessing game.

KUALA LUMPUR, March 1 — Lim Kit Siang said today Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s proposed audit of “all Tuns” and their children must include Datuk Seri Najib Razak and Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein, sons of Tun Abdul Razak Hussein and Tun Hussein Onn respectively.

The former prime minister said yesterday he would accept an audit on his administration after Lim claimed taxpayers lost RM100 billion in financial scandals during his 22-year tenure, but said “all Tuns must be audited. The sons and grandsons of Tuns as well,” in an apparent reference to his successor, Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 19 — Lim Kit Siang has challenged Datuk Seri Najib Razak to withdraw the ban on Bersih, free the judiciary and repeal other oppressive laws before boasting of becoming “the best democracy in the world.”

The DAP parliamentary leader insisted that despite plans to repeal the Internal Security Act (ISA) and other security laws, Malaysia was still “among the worst democracies in the world where citizens can be arrested for wearing yellow.”

Lim was referring to the arrests of nearly 200 ordinary Malaysians and politicians for wearing yellow Bersih T-shirts during the police crackdown in the days leading to the electoral reform group’s July 9 rally.

Utusan scraping the bottom with ex-IGP Rahim Noor, scoffs Kit Siang

UMNO’s spin doctors in Utusan Malaysia are scraping the bottom of the barrel bringing out of the woodwork discredited personalities to weave lies which positively damage Malaysia’s national interests and international image.

The latest incident is the surfacing of the discredited Inspector-General of Police, Tan Sri Rahim Noor who gave an interview with Mingguan Malaysia on Sunday alleging the Bersih 2.0 rally could open the door to Jews and Israel to infiltrate Malaysia as there were parties who wanted countries like Malaysia that was against Jews and Israel to be toppled.

Full list of 91 barred from KL on July 9 incl Ambiga, Anwar, Hadi, Kit Siang

The police have obtained a restriction order preventing 91 people, including Bersih organisers, Patriot/Umno Youth and Perkasa from entering the city central business district on Saturday.

The order is to stop any of the 91 from being present at several spots in Kuala Lumpur on July 9.
