The way former Prime Mahathir Mohamad has been carrying on since retiring, keeping himself very much in the public eye, it appears that he wants his old job back and this time perhaps until he dies and that could be at 97+. That could be the real reason why the 13th General Election has been unduly delayed.

Mahathir is now 88 years old.

Mahathir's latest visit was to Sabah where he visited the troops in Lahad Datu besides delivering a lecture at UMS on the RCI.

He repeated blatant lies on the MyKad scam in Sabah and the media dutifully reported them. His remarks were subjudice and bordered on contempt of court. Of course, as usual, the media will NOT run an editorial tearing Mahathir to bits for his errant remarks.

KUALA LUMPUR, July 22 ― A colossal RM893 billion was siphoned out of Malaysia’s economy into tax havens abroad between 1970 and 2010, a London-based research has revealed, placing the country among the top 20 nation in the developing world labelled as “losers” of capital flight.
The sum is more than triple that of Malaysia’s national debt total, which amounted to RM257.2 billion in 2011, according to previous media reports.

In the study commissioned by Tax Justice Network (TJN), a London-based organisation of professionals including economists and tax consultants, Malaysia is now ranked 12th on the list, two rungs above Singapore’s RM533 billion outflow and three below Indonesia’s RM1 trillion.

What started off as a peaceful protest ended in madness. These are some of the scenes of Bersih 3.0 on 28th April, 2012, scenes that many have not seen for over 40 years in Malaysia. Malaysia Eliminated From Olympics

MANAMA, Feb 6: Malaysian Olympic squad was able to forget about playing in the Olympics in London this July after losing 1-2 to Bahrain in the fourth game of the third round of Asian Zone Olympic National Stadium in Manama Bahrain last night.

With the defeat meant that Malaysia is officially out of the race slots for the Olympic Games after posting losing four times in a row and was ranked bottom with no points.

Malaysia's first football millionaire

National striker Safee Sali has become Malaysia’s first football millionaire.

The 28-year-old striker has confirmed that he has extended his stint with Jakarta club Pelita Jaya FC for two years, in a contract worth RM2mil.

Safee’s manager Zakaria Rahim said in a statement that under the new contract, Safee would receive numerous incentives, including fixed bonuses for matches, a house, car, driver and return tickets to Kuala Lumpur.

He added that the lucrative contract was Pelita Jaya FC’s acknowledgement of Safee’s contribution to the club. The Malaysian is also the club’s skipper.

The mushrooming of cheap motels which offer low hourly rates is believed to play a major part in the growth of prostitution among locals and foreigners alike in the country.

Anwar says Israel remarks in line with Malaysia, UN policy

This has led to a divisive kind of politics in the coalition since the country’s independence and it has caused grave disunity among the people of various races and religions.

The only party in the country that often uses race, religion and ethnic ‘rights’ to stay relevant in politics is UMNO. For this reason, UMNO does not deserve to talk about racial unity.

Malaysia 15th largest trade partner with Israel

The Barisan Nasional government's secret trade ties with the Zionist regime in Tel Aviv have come under renewed scrutiny with the revelation of a new document by a DAP member of parliament.

Citing a report on Europe-Israel trade ties published by the EU's European Commission of Trade on June 8, 2011, Bakri MP Er Teck Hwa revealed that the report placed Malaysia at the 24th spot in a list of 50 countries in their value of import trades with Israel. The Senate’s original role of functioning as a check and balance on Parliament was entirely lost once the majority of the Senators owed their appointments to the PM. They are no longer likely to question bills passed by the Parliament.

The Senate has therefore become a way for the BN to appoint to Ministerial position those who have been rejected by the people; like Women's minister Shahrizat Jalil, Gerakan president Koh Tsu Koon and MIC chief G Palanivel. It is also a way for BN political parties to fulfill their members' insatiable thirst for power, position and money. The Senate’s real objective seems irrevocably lost.

Malaysia's Anwar tells court sodomy charge is a 'lie'

prosecution rested its case in March."

A unity government in Malaysia - impossible unless Umno changes

There are many names and labels for it - a national unity government, a government of national unity, or a national union government. But basically, it means a broad coalition government, consisting of all parties or all major parties in the legislature or Parliament.

A unity government is also usually formed during a time of war or other national emergency, and involves the disbandment of coalitions and the setting up of a singular political entity.

In a unity government, there is no division along party lines nor any distinction of politicians but rather a single unified mind-set in governance. Truly unified governance also means there would be no such thing as a government or an opposition, just one big team.
