Malaysians, shall we tell Lynas to go to China? — Rama Ramanathan

Unknown | 1:44 PM | | Best Blogger Tips

MARCH 18 — “In 1992, on a visit to China’s largest rare earth mine in Bayan Obo, Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping said, “There is oil in the Middle East; there is rare earth in China.” Seven years later Chinese president Jiang Zemin wrote, “Improve the development and application of rare earth, and change the resource advantage into economic superiority.”  (See Cindy Hurst, The Metal’s Edge, 22 Nov 2010.)

Keeping Anwar down: Will Umno turn violent and will the world step in to help M'sians

Unknown | 4:32 AM | | | | | | | Best Blogger Tips

To an increasing number of Malaysians, it looks like UMNO and its president, Prime Minister Najib Razak, can never be trusted. Firstly, they lost their integrity by plundering the wealth of the country and 'turning' Malaysia and almost everything in it into their own 'property', even if most of the loot is held by trusted cronies.
Najib however is not only part of UMNO, he has been accused of being a pathological liar. And the odd thing is, he doesn't care who knows it, he doesn't feel shy to spout grandiose verbose today and the very next day be caught behaving like a banana republic dictator. Thick-skinned or not, this was exactly what happened in the recent decision by his minion, the Attorney General, to appeal the acquittal of Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim from sodomy charges.

Chinese Malaysians must read - Get lost, MCA! I want to vote for PAS

Unknown | 2:29 AM | | | | | | Best Blogger Tips

It has become the tradition for MCA to use hudud to attack Pakatan Rakyat especially now when we are in the last lap to the 13th general election. Hudud is of course the part of the Islamic criminal law that pertains to 6 specific punishments that includes amputation of limbs, whipping and stoning to death.
But this time around, the shocking thing is how the Chinese community reacted in the scocial media network. No one rushed to condemn hudud, no one took pity on the MCA. On the contrary, they attacked MCA with gusto, hurling foul words at its political hypocrisy and cheating ways.
It is not surprising then that MCA vice president Gan Ping Sieu has quietly dropped his debate challenge to Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng over the hudud issue.

'Undilah' video blacklisted for telling M'sians to have courage, this is their country

Unknown | 12:28 AM | | | | | | Best Blogger Tips

A decision to stop government-controlled TV stations from airing a bi-partisan 4-minute video clip encouraging the people to vote has raised eyebrows and increased public ridicule for Prime Minister Najib Razak, who two weeks ago grandly announced measures to make Malaysia "the best democracy in the world".
"Nice work MCMC. Your blocking undilah video will mean more people will see it. That's good because it is a must see!! Great video!" Ambiga Sreenevasan, the chairman of polls watchdog Bersih, said on Twitter.
"Dia kata kita mau demokrasi terbaik ka atau demokrasi terbalik (Did he say we want the best democracy or the opposite)?" tweeted Dzulkefly Ahmad, the PAS MP for Shah Alam.

M'sians have no driving skills, says don

Unknown | 3:29 AM | | | Best Blogger Tips

KUALA LUMPUR - Malaysian motorists only have the know-how to pass their driver's test but not the skills to drive, said public transportation expert Prof Dr Abdul Rahim Nor.
"The driving licence does not stand as testimony to their driving skills.
"As soon as they get their licence, they start driving.
"They are really not fit enough to drive and just end up a nuisance on the roads," said Prof Abdul Rahim, who is also Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia's Social, Development and Environmental Studies School head.

Malaysians, Arise: BN is cheating us of our voting rights. Stop them NOW

Unknown | 11:20 PM | | | | | | Best Blogger Tips

In response to Bersih, the Coalition for Free and Fair Elections, the Election Commission has stridently maintained that its voter rolls are clean and elections are conducted in a free and fair manner. Prime Minister Najib has also gone around saying there is no need for Bersih because elections are always free and fair in Malaysia. Right thinking Malaysians know better and have learned to discount these platitudes with a smirk.
Now we have further proof that elections in Malaysia are anything but free and fair. In fact the 13th general election may be the dirtiest ever. PAS has uncovered hard evidence of a plot to stuff the electoral rolls with foreigners given instant citizenship. It is breathtaking in its audacity and totally unconscionable in disregarding social consequences. Is BN so desperate to win that it is willing to barter the future of the country for another stint in power?
