An illicit affair between a physical education teacher and her student was unearthed when the two were found allegedly having sex in the school bathroom of the teacher’s office.

The athletic director of Basalt High School outside of Aspen, Colorado, reportedly found 26-year-old Lauren Redfern and one of her male students engaged in a sexual act, an affidavit states.

Redfern, who graduated from the high school in 2004 and was a star basketball player in her day, turned herself into the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office Thursday morning, and was charged with sexual assault on a child by a person in position of trust.

A former high school teacher has been charged with having sex with a 17-year-old student on ‘numerous occasions’.

Rachel Farrell, 25, is alleged to have carried out an extended affair with an 11th grade pupil she was teaching reading to at Bangor Area High School in Pennsylvania.

She has since resigned and has now been charged with three counts of corrupting a minor.

The case is the latest to concern a female teacher who has been jailed for, or accused of, having sex with a student.

Student detained after bomb threat on Facebook

GEORGE TOWN- A 24-year-old university undergraduate was detained for questioning after threatening to bomb Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak's helicopter in a Facebook posting.

George Town OCPD Asst Comm Gan Kong Meng said the student was brought in to the district police headquarters on Patani Road for questioning at around 1.30pm on Sunday.

“Police are investigating the case under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation. He was earlier picked up at his campus in Nibong Tebal.

“The case is pending further investigations. We will announce if there is any development,” he said when contacted Sunday.

A police report had been lodged at the Jelutong police station against a blog posting which featured a screenshot of the student's Facebook profile.

A POLYTECHNIC student aged 23 befriended a 13-year-old secondary schoolgirl through a “making friends” column in a teen magazine – and began pursuing her along a decidedly sexual tack.

Cheryl Bremble also sent a series of explicit text messages to the female student telling her she was ‘hot’. In one message relating to a sex toy, Bremble said: ‘And don’t ever say I won’t try it, cause u will experience something wonderful…’

Another message read: ‘Have u tried the present I gave u? Cause it’s a good one.’

The 40-year-old divorcee is also alleged to have told the girl, whose age has not been revealed, details of her love life with her own boyfriend.

Bremble, a mother of two, is the latest teacher in America to be arrested over an inappropriate relationship with a student.

She follows more than half a dozen teachers in the last month, including three in Texas, who are facing jail from having sex with under age students.

The victim is said to have developed a ‘special bond’ with Bremble who took her on shopping trips and buying her expensive clothes.

But according to prosecutors in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, the relationship soon turned sexual.

Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman said Bremble bought the girl a sex toy and encouraged her to use it at home after handing it over at the Upper Darby High School where she was a special education teacher.

The girl told detectives she received text messages encouraging her to use the sex toy and they also had face to face conversations about sex.

A criminal complaint filed against Bremble accuses her of talking to the girl about her sex life with her current boyfriend.

The relationship came to light on May 27th when the girl, in tears, went to her father and told him that Bremble had been sending her sexual text messages, telling her that she was bisexual and that she thought she was ‘hot.’

Upper Dublin School District Superintendent Michael Pladus said Bremble had been suspended.

‘The teacher has been suspended, pending the results of the investigation,’ Mr Pladus said.

Bremble was charged with having sexually explicit conversations in person and electronically with one of her female students.

She was released on $25,000 unsecured bail and due to appear back in court later this month.

Teacher Had 3-Year Affair with Student, 15, at School Where Husband Was Principal

The wife of a high school principal is facing up to two years in jail for having a three-year affair with an underage student.

JoAnn Stephens, from Texas, pleaded guilty to a single charge of improper conduct after a plea deal with prosecutors.

Four other charges against her were dropped.

The 43-year-old had an affair with a 15-year-old student at her husband’s school where she was working as a substitute teacher.

Stephens was an elementary physical education teacher and girls’ athletics coach at Mineola ISD. Before she resigned in December, she had been an employee with the school district since 2006.

The alleged relationship with the male student started when he was 15. He graduated in 2010, according to the probable cause affidavit.

The affair lasted three years and only ended after the pair were caught leaving a secluded spot where they had sex.

Mineola Police Department received a complaint from Child Protective Services in August regarding a ‘reported inappropriate relationship’ between a school employee and a student.

After several months of investigations, officers found probable cause existed to charge Stephens with the offence of ‘improper relationship between educator and student’, according to police information.

Investigators found DNA evidence from both the teacher and the boy inside a pick-up truck that linked the two together.

They also reportedly confiscated text messages and other cell phone records that linked the pair and proved the three-year relationship.

According to the arrest affidavit, Stephens also gave the teen a prepaid cell phone, and witnesses said she allegedly gave him candy, gifts, clothes and money.

The affair began when Stephens, a PE teacher, was employed as a substitute teacher at Mineola High School in Mineola, Texas.

Her husband Ricky Stephens was principal of the school.

Stephens was originally charged with five second-degree felonies: two counts of sexual assault of a child, two counts of inappropriate relationship of educator and student and one count of online solicitation.

But under a plea deal only the improper relationship charge was brought against Stephens in return for a guilty plea.

The charge carries a sentence of between two and 20 years.

Stephens’s lawyer Dan Wyde said she is ready to face her fate: ‘Mrs Stephens has been very calm throughout this process. She understand the seriousness and the nature of the allegations.’
