Foreign worker and maid found dead in Geylang hotel

A foreign worker and a Filipino maid were found dead at a hotel in Geylang on Sunday night.

Their bodies were discovered by the hotel's employee at around 11.40pm at Summer Hotel, along Geylang Lorong 22.

Lianhe Wanbao reported that the male victim, Mr Mohammad Sumon Lutfar, is believed to be a 22-year-old man from Bangladesh, and the female victim, Ms Rezzilyn Lodia Vinegas, is a 33-year-old woman from the Philippines.

Maid raped and thrown from flat survives ordeal

SINGAPORE - In 2009, she was raped twice, dragged by her hair from room to room, poked and cut with a pair of scissors, strangled with raffia string and finally thrown out the window of a second storey flat.

The 26-year-old Indonesian maid survived the ordeal and will now testify in court against her alleged 42-year-old assailant.

The suspect, who is now 44, will not be named to protect the identity of the victim, who is now 29.

In the first day of the High Court trial yesterday, the prosecution said it would be calling 49 witnesses for the case including police officers, forensic scientists and the victim herself.

Runaway maid raped by 'good Samaritan

An Indonesian domestic worker, who ran away from her employer's house, ended up being raped by the "good Samaritan" who had given her shelter.

The 24-year-old woman met the man when she went to the Immigration Department to surrender herself the day she left her employer's home in Kota Baru, Kelantan.

Maid allegedly bashed lover with 5.6kg dumbbell

ONE month before his arranged marriage in India, project supervisor Murugaiyan Selvam was bashed on the head with a dumb-bell, allegedly by his married lover.

Sri Lankan Tharmalingam Puwaneswary, 33, who was working as a maid here, was also said to have used a sharp object to stab his groin.

Mr Murugaiyan, 32, died after the attack which took place in 2009, and the woman is now on trial in the High Court for culpable homicide.

The maid, who is said to be suffering from schizophrenia, was originally charged with murder.

Maid brings stranger into employer's home for sex

employer is angry that his maid brought a man to his house for sex.

Mr Fang (46, driver) told reporters that the incident happened last Monday. He and his wife had gone to sleep after watching TV with their two sons, leaving the maid alone in the children's room.

At about 2.30am, Mr Fang woke up after hearing sounds of a man coming from the children's room. He knocked and entered the room and saw a shirtless foreign worker inside with the maid.

"I called my maid to the living room and asked her about it. Meanwhile, the man used the opportunity to slip out of the house. My maid apologised and nonchalantly went back to her room," said Mr Fang.

AMPANG JAYA: Seeing a naked man pounce and rain blows on her employer, a petite Indonesian maid lunged at the much bigger assailant without a second thought.

Police have rescued a Cambodian maid who was locked up in a double-storey house in Pandan Indah in Kuala Lumpur for nearly a week.

The maid, 18, was left with little food by her employers, who are believed to be on holiday.

Teratai state assembly representative Jenice Lee said the girl's plight caught the attention of the neighbours, who passed her food through the grilled windows.

Filipina maid bludgeoned to death in Jln Gasing

PETALING JAYA -- A Filipina maid was found bludgeoned to death at a house in Jalan Gasing here Saturday night.

Her employer told the police that he found the body of the 36-year-old victim in her bedroom about midnight.

The police have declined to identify the victim who had worked at the house for the past nine years.
