Teachers punished for sex with students

A FEMALE teacher's sexual activity with a student at a party was among almost a dozen incidents to go before the Teachers Registration Board in one year.

There were 11 unprofessional conduct hearings between July 2010 and June 2011 - up from eight over the same period a year earlier.

The female teacher was given a serious reprimand and disqualified from being registered until further order for attending a formal after-party and engaging in sexual conduct with an 18-year-old male student.

OMBAK: Some 40 students from various universities staged a protest within the International Islamic University (UIA) grounds tonight, condemning “persecution” against vocal academician Professor Abdul Aziz Bari.

Schoolgirls from Singapore and Malaysia are going online to sell their bodies for money to buy luxury items.

SINGAPORE - Schoolgirls are turning to prostitution during the holidays, to earn a quick buck in order to buy luxury items.

And they are turning to Facebook and other online sources to do so.

A female student in Malaysia reportedly made RM30,000 (S$12,219) during the year-end school break last year by prostituting herself, China Press reported.

According to The Star, the report said the student from Kuala Lumpur charged customers RM250 to RM800 each so that she could indulge in luxury items.

“I have sex at least five times a day. However, I take a week’s break each month,” she told the paper.

The girl said she was cutting down on her sexual services this year as she wanted to prepare for the SPM examinations.

According to the daily, the girl was among many students who used Facebook to earn money through sex and buy luxury items they covet and one even said she had listed her sex service on a website to earn money to buy an iPhone.

Most of them were from Johor Baru, Malacca, Kuala Lumpur and Penang.

Customers are asked to pay up to RM300 per session and RM600 if the customer wanted an overnight sex session.

The paper reported that the girls charged RM3,000 if their customers wanted to have them for a month.

It also said the girls offered telephone sex at RM150 per call and sent a photograph of them in the nude through the mobile phone for RM10 per copy.


The paper’s reporter contacted one of the girls through SMS and Internet messaging service by posing as a customer.

Some girls used Facebook to cheat potential customers – they stopped using their Facebook accounts after getting money from potential customers.

The paper passed on the information it had gathered on the sex service to the Johor police.

The police said they would investigate the matter.

Offering services f'or companionship, or more'


In Singapore, a schoolgirl posted her profile on an adult website, offering her services to men 'for companionship, or more...in exchange for some benefits'.

She described herself as 'not choosy' and will meet at hotels or in homes, and posted that she'll be available only till the June holidays.

Her profile was accompanied by five photos, which showed that of a sweet young girl with long hair. She listed her price as $200, and also left her mobile contact on the website.

The advertisement has attracted a flurry of comments from netizens. Some commented that she looks like a secondary school student, while others chided her for her behaviour and hoped her parents will discover her secret life soon.

When Shin Min reporters tried contacting the girl through her number, the call went unanswered. But she replied by SMS  to state her availability, but did not reply after that.

TWO MORE Female Tutors Arrested in ONE DAY for Sex with Students

A high school math teacher in Alabama and another in Pennsylvania have been arrested for having sex with their 17-year-old students.

Gabrielle Suzanne Marvelli, 38, of Quakertown, Pennsylvania, turned herself into police on Friday when she was charged with corruption of a minor after sleeping with a 17-year-old on Memorial day weekend.

She claims the teenager told her he was 18.

Divorcee Kimberly Bynum, 29, from Franklin County, Alabama, was arrested on Thursday and charged with being a school employee and engaging in sex with a student under 19-years-old, a law which came into effect in the state on July 1.

The Alabama student, who graduated from Vina High School this year, allegedly admitted to investigators that he had an affair with Bynum.

According to reports, the relationship started at the beginning of the school year when the two formed a friendship and Bynum allegedly said they both admitted to having feelings for each other.

Gabrielle Marvelli’s lawyer, Michael P. Quinn, told The Morning Call they will fight the charges against her.

He said: ‘He told her he was 18.’

The police were contacted shortly after the alleged encounter took place at a motel on Memorial Day weekend – about a week before the student’s 18th birthday.

Marvelli has since been suspended by the Allentown School District, which has undertaken an internal investigation on the matter.

Marvelli’s attorney said his client is a married woman and the mother of a young daughter.

The student’s family did not want to make an official comment, but the boy’s mother said her son never told Marvelli he was 18.

Both states deal with teachers who have sex with their pupils in very different ways.

If convicted, Bynum could face up to 20 years behind bars, while Marvelli only faces five.

The law under which Bynum is charged was outlined in a bill sponsored in 2010 by Democratic Rep Demetrius Newton, of Birmingham.

Newton introduced the bill because of an incident where a teacher and a 16-year-old student were accused of having a sexual relationship but school officials could take no action against the teacher because the student was 16, which is the age of consent in Alabama.

The law provides that consent is not a defense.

For Marvelli, under Pennsylvania criminal law, the charge of corruption of minors can be applied to adults who commit various offenses, including sexual abuse, against anyone under age 18.

However, the state Department of Education and local school districts do not have an age limit when it comes to inappropriate contact between a teacher and student, said Tim Eller, spokesman for the state Department of Education.

He said: ‘When it comes to teachers there’s no delineation between a student of adult age or child. Regardless of age, the department does not look favorably upon it.’

School officials were uncertain as to what the future will hold for the teacher as news about the alleged affair spread.

Assistant Superintendent Donald Borden told the Times Daily: ‘The school board will do its own investigation and go from there. I’d rather not make any comments other than that because we know very little about the case.’

Bynum was released on $10,000 bond.

A series of nude photos of graduates celebrating the end of university has caused a buzz on the Internet, the rednet.cn reported Friday.

In the photos, five graduates from Orient Science & Technology College of Hunan Agriculture University (OSTCHAU) ran nude on campus before leaving university.

Netizens on China’s major SNS websites such as Renren, Douban, and Sina’s Weibo (Chinese Twitter) forwarded the post thousands of times. Some were astonished while others praised the courage of running nude in public.

A professor of OSTCHAU acknowledged that the students are 2011 graduates, yet he refused to make any comment saying this is a "personal" thing.

Liu, one of the graduates, admitted to his "crazy nude running" online saying "We run in nude to mark our graduation, to make a memorable thing for our life, don’t panic."

When an officer shone his torch into the car he saw they were having sex.
