Indonesian sharia stronghold 'rehabilitates' punks

BANDA ACEH, Indonesia - Indonesian sharia police are "morally rehabilitating" more than 60 young punk rock fans in Aceh province on Sumatra island, saying the youths are tarnishing the province's image.

Since being arrested at a punk rock concert in the provincial capital Banda Aceh on Saturday night, 59 male and five female punk rock fans have been forced to have their hair cut, bathe in a lake, change clothes and pray.

"We feared that the Islamic sharia law implemented in this province will be tainted by their activities," Banda Aceh deputy mayor Illiza Sa'aduddin Djamal, who ordered the arrests, told AFP on Wednesday.

Nude pic: Man pays more for old phone

A Chinese man in Zhangzhou, Fujian province, had to buy back his old mobile phone at twice the price after he found out it still had nude photos of his wife on it.

The man, surnamed Wu, had bought a new phone and sold his old one to another villager for 500 yuan (RM240) before his wife realised that five nude photos of her had not been deleted.

The new owner demanded 1,000 yuan (RM480) to return it.

After police intervened and it was guaranteed that the pictures had not been copied or put on the Internet, Wu agreed to pay.

Man with rings stuck on his penis

A man from China was found with two gold rings stuck on his penis.

The man, who was returning home for Chinese New Year, was very worried that his two rings would be stolen on the journey.

He removed them from his fingers and wore them on his penis for safekeeping.

When he arrived at Changde in Hunan province, he tried to remove the rings but failed.

He sought help from the public, who called the fire department.

The rings were removed from his penis at a hospital an hour later.

Porn scandal teacher may stay on at school

A "PORN star" teacher could keep his job, despite a video of him having sex with an ex-student being posted on an X-rated website.

Just days before school resumes, the Geelong high school at the centre of the storm says it is taking the matter "very seriously".

The graphic video of the teacher and the student, who graduated in 2008, went viral on social media websites after students discovered it.

A preview video shows the couple naked, in sex acts, and with the girl blindfolded.

The ex-student explained yesterday that everyone who knew them understood the couple were in a committed relationship. The couple live together and jointly own a business.

"We're consenting adults," she said.

Women tries on 20 dresses, 6 disappear

It looked like a regular shopping outing among girlfriends.

For about an hour, three women in their mid- to late 30s tried on up to 20 dresses at a Chinatown shop on Pagoda Street.

After all that, the women bought just one dress costing $160.

But after they left, the shop owner discovered that six dresses, each also worth about $160, had disappeared along with them.

Madam Qin Yong Juan, 34, said the stolen dresses were designs that the women had tried on and were in sizes suitable for them.

The outfits were also the most expensive pieces in the store.

Madam Qin said in Mandarin: "About five to 10 minutes after they left, my assistant, who had been serving them, noticed that there were several empty hangers on the racks.

Schoolgirl plays truant to sell sex

The Education Ministry has ordered a probe into allegations involving a student who played truant to offer sex services to strangers during school hours.

Deputy Minister Datuk Dr Wee Ka Siong said the school authorities had been asked to submit a report on the matter.

It is learned that the Form Two student went missing from school three days before the start of the Chinese New Year festive break.

Confirmed: MCA is a ‘Dumb and Dumber’ outfit

I AM deeply relieved to see the MCA leadership openly displaying and confirming that it is led by a “Dumb and Dumber!” leadership that knows no shame.

My article uploaded by Malaysia Chronicle (MC) and titled “‘Dumb and Dumber’ MCA drives white ang-pows issue round and round”, has to date attracted 86 comments, including a deranged ‘Samuel’ who uses vulgarity to curse MC readers who have responded angrily towards Perkasa-MCA’s white ‘death’ packets distributed to the Chinese community this lunar year of the Dragon.

My article was prompted by MCA youth secretary-general Chan Kim Sen’s silly ‘damage control’ statement that created even more damage to the integrity of MCA.

Instead of defending the dignity of the Chinese community being given pak kam (white gold), signifying death, MCA tried to pin the blame on PAS. (for more, read the article)

I thought that was the pits from a party that claims to represent and defend the Chinese community.

Hadi to stay on and contest

The PAS central committee has rejected the offer by Tuan Guru Abdul Hadi Awang (pic) not to be nominated as candidate for the general election, saying the party president must stand as a candidate.

PAS information chief Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man, saying it was a unanimous decision with which Hadi has agreed, said it was reached during a high powered political bureau meeting last Wednesday.

Hadi had earlier mulled two options - to stay away from the elections or to context only in one seat. 

Top Pakatan Rakyat leaders including PAS Murshidul Am Tuan Guru Nik Aziz Nik Mat, DAP advisor Lim Kit Siang and Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim had however said Hadi must stay on.

Hadi, the former Terengganu Menteri Besar, is presently member of parliament for Marang and state assemblyman for Rhu Rendang.

Sisters Charged For Sexually Assaulting Man With Pliers

Two Wisconsin sisters are facing criminal charges for allegedly sexually assaulting a man with a pair of pliers after having forced him to drink a glass of urine, police allege.

A harrowing criminal complaint does not offer a motive for the attack, which occurred four months ago and resulted last Friday in the filing of felony and misdemeanor charges against Valerie Bartkey, 24, and Amanda Johnson, 17.

The victim, a high school student, told the St. Croix Sheriff’s Department that he was playing Xbox at home when Johnson called and invited him to hang out with her. Saying 'I have failed', KITA calls it a day

Just over a year after forming the KITA party, former minister in the Prime Minister's Department Zaid Ibrahim, who left Parti Keadilan Rakyat after a war of words with its leaders, has announced that the tiny party would be dissolved.

"An Extraordinary General Meeting will be held soon to dissolve KITA. This is necessary to remove any and all doubts that we indeed do support the Opposition, especially in light of some of our members in Kedah and Penang being openly critical of the Pakatan Rakyat," he said in a statement.

KITA was transformed from Kelantan-based party Malaysian People’s Justice Front, or AKIM, which Zaid joined after his resignation from PKR.

'Damn it, please move out!' - Rafidah tells Shahrizat

Even as her three-weak leave from the cabinet ends today, Women, Family and Community Development minister Shahrizat Abdul Jalil has found herself at the receiving end of another attack, this time by a familiar foe who she replaced.

Shahrizat's predecessor in Wanita UMNO, its former head Rafidah Aziz, launched a vitriolic attack on her, literally telling Shahrizat, who has been at the centre of the scandal involving the government-aided National Feedlot Corporation managed by her family members, to "move out".

Speaking to UMNO-linked daily Malay Mail, Rafidah did not mince her words when urging Shahrizat to resign, echoing a call by their former boss Dr Mahathir Mohamad and other UMNO leaders.

“If you are a problem to the party and government, please move out! That’s it (for) everyone, whether it’s got to do with cows or anything (else). That’s the most matured way of dealing with your problems,” said Rafidah.

Outcry after 12-year-old strip-searched

The mother of a 12-year-old Australian girl strip-searched by police during a drug raid said Thursday she was outraged in a case that has sparked a public outcry and calls for a review of the law.

The girl was strip-searched twice in the Tasmanian state capital Hobart last week and her mother, Kristy Gobbey, said her child felt humiliated.
