Koh wanted Gerakan out of BN

Unknown | 3:05 AM | | | | Best Blogger Tips

Gerakan president Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon (pix) had wanted to pull the party out of Barisan Nasional (BN) three years ago after some Umno members desecrated his picture.
Party secretary-general Teng Chang Yeow said six to seven Gerakan leaders met on the night of Sept 8, 2008 after the former chief minister's picture was removed from the wall of an Umno division and torn into pieces during a press conference.
Teng said he was at the party pow-wow and Koh, like others present, was very angry.

Ex-Umno MPs want Najib out

Unknown | 3:20 PM | | | | Best Blogger Tips

Penawar, an organisation comprising ex-Umno parliamentarians headed by a Mahathir man, has expressed lack of confidence in the PM's leadership.
PETALING JAYA: Speculation has been rife that Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak’s position in Umno is under threat.
Party insiders have long claimed that the daggers are out, alleging that while in public, support is expressed for the president, behind closed doors his deputy Muhyiddin Yassin with the blessings of former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad is making his move.
The prime minister’s grip on power slipped further following the Bersih 2.0 rally on July 9 while the controversies surrounding his wife Rosmah Mansor are also taking a toll.

Musa keeps Rosmah happy and Shafie out

Unknown | 12:22 PM | | | | | | Best Blogger Tips

Chief Minister Musa Aman's extensive reach in Sabah makes him an almost invincible opponent to allies and enemies alike.
LAHAD DATU: Musa Aman has ultimate control over the state’s economy, security and soil. He is Chief Minister, Finance Minister and Sabah Umno chairman.
It is a concentration of power, without oversight and unprecedented, in a state government. It was unheard of prior to the Umno-led Barisan Nasional’ s takeover of the state administration.
It also explains Musa’s controlling reach in the extraction and export of logs from Sabah’s forests. Timber was once Sabah’s goldmine.

As expected, RCI cops out: Beng Hock committed suicide

Unknown | 12:24 AM | | | | | | Best Blogger Tips

As expected, the Royal Commission of Inquiry, in an unanimous decision, found that Teoh Beng Hock had been driven to commit suicide by “aggressive, relentless, oppressive and unscrupulous” interrogation by three MACC officers.
But tough-sounding the RCI's words may be, it was a cop out on justice due to the 30-year-old Selangor political officer. This way, the RCI hopes to satisfy his family without having to bring to book the MACC officers involved.
"He was felt pressured and stressed as a result of continuous interrogation techniques," Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Nazri Aziz told reporters on Monday.

Watch out foreign media: Uncle Najib is coming after you too!

Unknown | 1:57 PM | | | | | | | | | Best Blogger Tips

People got hurt. Some bled. Some had fractures. One brave soul even died. Thousands suffocated and gasped and were blinded under torrents of chemical laced water cannons and stinging tear gas. This was the world attention grabbing Bersih 2.0 walk for Democracy in Malaysia.
Now the government of Malaysia has officially responded: No, no do not twist and turn the facts. The people got hurt because they were careless. The ones that bled were because they fell down, lah.
Fractures? The bandage could be a fake just like the case of that one man who once punched his own eyeball, remember? And the one and only death was he died of ‘heart attack’ – also cannot eh?
So stop accusing the government and its faithful police force.

“Bitch, Your Pancakes Look Fine to Me” – Brawl Breaks Out at Denny’s Over Syrup“Bitch, Your Pancakes Look Fine to Me” – Brawl Breaks Out at Denny’s Over Syrup

Unknown | 6:43 AM | | | | | | | | | | Best Blogger Tips

It’s hard to believe that a fight this bad could erupt when the only thing she asked for was some syrup for her pancakes. A mass brawl ensued when one girl asked another table if they could have some syrup, and got the response: “Bitch, your pancakes look fine to me.”

The fight started in a Denny’s restaurant in Chicopee, Massachusetts, when one group of girls did not have enough pancake syrup. Two girls begin to have a stand-up argument and another gets involved while one of them approaches a filming camera and says ‘YouTube it’.
The video, posted on YouTube, shows one girl in a white shirt and black trousers start rapidly punching another in the face. The girl being punched, who is wearing a light blue top and jeans, is then pushed over to the ground and her black underwear is partially exposed. As she gets up, another girl in a blue stripy top and jeans is pushed over by the same girl who started punching the first victim.
While the fight happens, some people run out of the way, others clap and everyone else watches in disbelief as a chef comes up and tries to break up the fight before sending out one of the girls.

Controversy over Two Disabled Gays Who Were Kicked Out of Pool

Unknown | 8:48 PM | | | | | | | | | | Best Blogger Tips

An employee at a public swimming pool in eastern Kentucky was suspended for a week without pay after telling two disabled gay men to leave, city of Hazard officials said Saturday.

The suspended city employee Kim Haynes told investigators that the two men were engaged in an excessive display of affection June 10, and that he would have told any other couple to leave had he seen similar behavior. Haynes, however, also acknowledged he said “We don’t tolerate that kind of activity around here” and cited the Bible in an argument with Laura Quillen, a member of the social service group Mending Hearts, which was overseeing the group.
Quillen told investigators the men did nothing inappropriate.
According to a report released by city attorney Paul R. Collins, summing up the conflicting accounts, at least one witness saw the men “standing `man to man’ or `belly to belly’ in the pool, splashing each other with water and pushing each other under the water.” The witness “also said he observed them hug each other on at least one occasion” and give each other a kiss, the report said.
Pearlman and Haynes were not at work on Saturday and could not be reached by the newspaper for comment by telephone.
Meanwhile, dozens of people rallied at the pool Saturday in support of the gay men.
“It’s time that people stood up for people. It’s just the right thing to do,” Marsha Morgan from Leslie County told WYMT-TV.
Jordan Palmer, president of the Kentucky Equality Federation, said the men were discriminated against.
“There was not kissing, and there was nothing of that sort. One of them sat on the other’s knee and that was it,” said Jordan Palmer, president of the Kentucky Equality Federation.
The manager of the Hazard Pavilion also was reprimanded for unbecoming conduct, The Courier-Journal reported. Charlotte Pearlman used inappropriate and obscene language when declining comment to a television news crew, the city said.
The city also said new anti-discrimination signs will be posted at the pool, as well as signs warning against excessive public displays of affection.
