60-year highway robbery! Another 'Rosemajib' deal?

FROM THE BLOGS "Kumpulan Xxxx has officially obtained the contract to build a RM7.07 billion highway linking Banting (Selangor) and Taiping (Perak). Xxxx said its 64.2 per cent-owned Xxxx obtained an approval letter yesterday from the Public Private Partnership Unit of the Prime Minister’s Department.

Releasing details of the project yesterday, Xxxx said the West Coast Expressway will cover 316km. Of this, 224km will be tolled, while 92km will be toll-free. The project is based on build-operate-transfer with a concession period of 60 years, Xxxx said in a statement to Bursa Malaysia yesterday. Xxxx has secured a government support loan (GSL) of RM2.24 billion to “enhance the viability of the project”. The soft loan will kick off in 2013 at an interest rate of 4.0 per cent per year and an interest subsidy of up to 3.0 per cent from commercial loans for a period of 22 years.

Yet another Anwar lookalike video posted online

PETALING JAYA, Malaysia - Several bloggers have uploaded a trailer video clip showing a man resembling Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in a bedroom.

The bloggers gave different titles to the 2.25 min video clip.

One dubbed it as One Night in Bangkok; while another called it Round Two.

The video was purportedly recorded in a hotel room in Bangkok on Jan 13 this year.

Another Umno palace? Jamil denies stealing zakat money for renovations

Minister in charge of Islamic affairs Jamil Khir Baharom has denied helping himself to zakat money or Islamic tithes to build a palatial home mansion for himself and family. In the style of his Umno party, Jamli also rushed to offer to 'swear' or take a religious oath if his accusers did the same.

“Wallahi, I did not take zakat money. You can check with the Federal Territory zakat department and get a clean audit. I dare to swear if they dare,” Jamil Khir told reporters on Thursday.

DPM's call to show 'true' Bersih footage: Another BN 'stunt' on the way?

Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin called on the police to promptly show video footage from the July 9 Bersih rally so as refute the opposition's claims of police brutality.

His comments immediately aroused suspicion that the Najib administration was about to "pull off another stunt", perhaps showing video footage intentionally made to cast the Bersih marchers in a bad and violent light.

PKR leader Dr Tan Kee Kwong has questioned who footed the bill for the engagement ceremony of Prime Minister Najib Razak's daughter which was held at Seri Perdana last night.

The guests' list which included royalty, politicians and members of the diplomatic corps totaled 810. 

The dinner was held at the Prime Minister's residence in Putrajaya on the occasion of Najib's daughter, Nooryana Najwa's engagement to Daniyar Nazarbayev, who is a relative of Kazakhstan president Nursultan Nazarbayev. 

“I understand that the purchase order to a leading hotel was issued in the name of the PM's Department which raises the question of who actually footed the bill for the catering, which came up to RM81,000,” queried Dr Tan.

The former Gerakan MP and deputy minister who is likely to be a candidate for PKR in the fast approaching general election, said his query was justified under any circumstances but more so in these 'belt-tightening times when the rising cost of living burdens the ordinary citizen.”

Bill footed by taxpayers?

Tan said: “Cuts to subsidies on fuel and other items mean a strapped existence for the already struggling rakyat so the question of who defrayed the cost of the prime minister's daughter's engagement dinner must come under scrutiny particularly when the purchase order was issued in the name of the PM's Department.

“An order of this nature would ordinarily mean that the taxpayer is footing the bill which is unjustifiable under any circumstances, more so in these stringent times.”

Tan, who is also PKR disciplinary committee chairperson, said an explanation is called for because “there is no justification that the expenses of an occasion like this be met by anybody else save the prime minister.”

ANOTHER Brawl Among Women at Denny’s As Chairs Go Flying – Video

Diners at a Florida restaurant got more than they expected from their late night meal after a full-blown female wrestling extravaganza kicked off. The fight involving chairs, tables, salt shakers and many other objects lying around in a Denny’s restaurant in Port Charlotte is becoming a hit on YouTube.

One woman almost lost her modesty as her black underwear was exposed, but that didn’t seem to bother her as she threw chairs and knocked over tables.

The argument began when two black women wearing skin-tight outfits began arguing with a white woman who was also wearing a skin-tight dress.

Security guards and restaurant waiters tried to separate them and take them outside as they were egged on by a number of onlookers.

One man came up to one of the black women and tried to get her to calm down but she pushed him away and continued arguing with the white woman.

The white woman then picked up a chair and threatened it towards the black woman before the security guard told her to put it down.

The black woman then pushed the white woman to the floor, whose dress seemed to ride up her legs as her black underwear was exposed to the cheering crowd.

A full-blown chair fight then ensued between the two women across the restaurant as some people cheered and others looked terrified as they ducked for cover.

Tables were pushed over and the women stood at opposite ends of the open-plan area, as the man filming the video said: ‘S**t, you gotta be kidding me’.

Another man intervened and tried to get the white woman to calm down, before she walked around and tried to recover her modesty by pulling her outfit back down.

Smashed glass and broken furniture lay all over the floor as the filming man said: ‘What the f**k is going on?’ Another man said: ‘I got five on the white girl!’

She tied up her hair as the situation became under control, and the police arrived. She said: ‘Hey sir, how you doing? A b***h just beat me up.’

DJ Quest, who has a show on 105.5 The Beat in Fort Myers, Florida, uploaded the popular video, and said it was a ‘crazy night’ at Denny’s.

‘Got our food late but the show was great,’ he said. ‘UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) ain’t got nothing on this.’

A spokesman for Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office said no arrests were made, Denny’s did not press charges and no police report was filed.

‘We received a call from Denny’s after the incident inside the restaurant was over,’ he said. ‘Deputies arrived one minute after the call.

‘Denny’s refused to press charges and the case was closed.’

The fight comes two months after a mass brawl ensued in a Denny’s restaurant in Chicopee, Massachusetts, over maple syrup for pancakes.

Yet ANOTHER Texas Teacher Jailed for Sex With Student – 4th Texas Teacher in Weeks

Yet another teacher in Texas has been jailed for having sex with one of her students.

Christina McCann is alleged to have had sex with an 18-year-old student she was chaperoning during a conference for future business leaders in February

Christina McCann is the fourth teacher from the Lone Star state to be locked up in recent weeks for illegal sexual activity with a student.

The 39-year-old is alleged to have had sex with an 18-year-old student she was chaperoning during a conference for future business leaders.

Investigators in Austin, Texas claim McCann had been drinking with some of the six students she was in charge of during a competition organized by the Distributive Education Clubs of America.

Detectives believe McCann was drinking alcohol with the students when one of them returned to her hotel room and a sexual encounter took place.

The incident took place in February while McCann and her students were staying at a hotel in Fort Worth.

The students, from Lake Travis High School in Austin, were competing against other schools in a competition.

The Distributive Education Clubs of America seeks to prepare students to become leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance and hospitality.

Police began investigating McCann after a tip off and she resigned from her job as a marketing teacher at the High School last month.

A warrant was issued for her arrest last week and McCann turned herself in on Monday.

She was charged with an improper relationship between educator and student. Bail was set at $10,000.

McCann follows three other Texas teachers who are all facing jail after being charged with having sex with their students.

Britni Colleps, 27, of Arlington, is accused of having sex with five of her students. Her husband has vowed to stand by her and dismissed the allegations as false.

April Alexander, 26, from Irving, is facing up to five years in jail for having repeated sexual encounters with a 16-year-old.

And Angela New, 39, from Gladewater, is accused of sleeping with an 18-year-old from the high school where she taught English.
